It has been a terrible weekend weather wise, with the Maiden Castle Loop, the Chalmouth Challenge and the New Forest 10 all called off, I have never known a weekend like it. Richard has re-arranged an EVEN TOUGHER multi race challenge in August, 26th The Oak Crock 10.5 mile trail race, Sunday 27th Battle of Sedgemoor 10k race, Monday 28th August Baltonsborough 5 Mile and finishing with the Shillingstone 5 mile hill race! All for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
At least I got my first long run in in preparation for an Autumn Marathon! Let me know if you are running a marathon this year and send me the details!
This Wednesday is the latest race in the Yeovilton 5k series, may do it myself, so at least you won't have to see my ugly mug as you turn and head for home.
A little reminder, because of various races etc there will be one Committee Meeting to cover July and August, this will be on the 18th July, more details next week.
I have had this from Martin
In case I'm in time, there are 10 places left for next Saturday's Blackdown Beauty - if anyone wants to run but to do only the 10 mile option (rather than 16), they are more than welcome to come along with me - I can also offer a lift to & from as won't be staying on afterwards. A note from Sally on the Friday Track Sessions:
Thanks to Timothy Hawkins and co for tonight's training, even tho it meant leaving a bottle of wine at home alone, I enjoyed it and will be back! I tried the cold bath, could only do 5mins (unsure how long you are meant to stay in the water) things can only improve :)
