Had this impressive news in from Darrell, Hey Darell, 1:30:18, what I would not give for that time, well done!
Hi Terry
I ran Cardiff Half today in 1.30.18. Great race perfect weather great support from the crowds. Gutted though I didn't get sub 1.30.
Many thanks

Burnham On Sea Half From Bryn and Lesley
Bryn - "Excellent run out at Burnham Half today. Finished 3rd and 1st YTRRC home. The kids must have enjoyed it too as they went under the barrier to finish the 50 meters with me. Then topped it off with a trip to Weston and Frankie & Bennies for some much needed nourishment."
And Lesley commented:
"Well done Bryn - a good family day out! Also well done to Nick Brooke (1st MV60), Flora Brooke, Rose Harvey and Helen Nesbitt (her 1st ½ marathon and longest distance ever run, finishing in an excellent time of 01:52:18).
Oh, and me of course (1st FV55 - where are all the faster FV55 runners - there are definitely some out there!) The weather was perfect, well maybe a bit warm whilst running but it was lovely sitting outside afterwards chilling with a cuppa in the warm sunshine."
And I cycled 70 miles in the New Forest Wiggle yesterday on the fitness comeback and Cris did the 100 miles today, sore rear end time! Tough but enjoyable!

said about Argenten..
What a truly wonderful weekend. Everyone seems to have exceeded their
running expectations and had far too much fun in the process.
What
a fantastic race. If the government ran the country as well as YTRRC organised
all the aspects of this race and the itinerary, this'd be one hell of a country
More from Agenten when I get it, sounds like a good time was had by all, especially Phil the Clown!
Catherine Thompson Hansford sent the following, nice one!
I managed a 2:00:56 on my first
half marathon so pretty pleased with that! And I got a free foot massage at
Lush afterwards!
More news from the Bournemouth Marathon and Half when I get it
The Last
Hash? - Martin Mixy Chaffey
Thanks to those runners who came out to Stoke sub Hamdon for what was billed the last Hash of the Ham Hill Hash (H5) – the sun came out (it does always shine on the righteous!) to lighten the sombre mood; members had taken up the message to wear black to mark the occasion, and Kat Hurford excelled by turning up in full mourning veil and black armband! (It should be noted here that Kevin “Blimey O” Riley, whose idea it was, arrived in.. white t shirt and fluorescent yellow top!)

Back at the Pub it was agreed that we’d all had a good time and that whilst there won’t be one for a couple of months we will have the HAM HILL HASH CHRISTMAS SPECIAL HASH – which will be in Sherborne (pub tbc) on SUNDAY 22ND DECEMBER AT 11AM. See you there!!
Parkrun
Run #5 of the Parkrun took place at Montacute House on Saturday morning. It was interesting to see a new phenomenon on Saturday – one which seemingly is common to other Parkruns – in that 5 minutes before the 9am run start, there were hardly any runners! Having started well, with an average of 90 runners for the first 4 runs at Montacute, when there were only about 30-40 runners there at 8.50am, it was a case of “oh well, it was going to be quiet at some point” – but minutes later the numbers had swelled and there ended up being 118 runners!

It was good to see so many Club members out, with a good 25+ amongst the field – Richard Boulter led the way with his 12th pace, ahead of Rod Appleby and Fred Fox, with Rich Dodge and Malcolm Maxted using it as warm up for much longer runs ahead.
Rose Harvey cemented her place at the top of the Womens’ points competition with a strong second place (23m53), with Lynne Thumpston and Fiona Gaffney sprinting round together. It was nice to see that a few Club members were able to bring – and run round with – family members.
There were quite a few members of the Crewkerne, Langport and Wells clubs there too - it would good to get a bit of inter-Club banter going, so do think about coming along – if you need an incentive, Richie has got his Yarlington runners coming out and tells me they’ll skin you all! (he didn’t actually, but thought I’d try to get things going!!)
If you are coming to the Parkrun and you are a
member of the National Trust, can you please show your card to the House staff
on the way out – they get about £3.40 for each of us who does this, so it helps
them. I can also personally vouch for the very nice post-run (or marshalling!)
coffee and bacon sandwiches that they do at the Courtyard Café!
More as it comes in
