And
now a word from me… My thoughts
You
see a lot about Ultra’s and Marathons and hear a lot about them. Some would
claim that the Marathon is the ‘Classic’ distance, and it is a great feeling to
complete a Marathon, it is a classic distance and IF that is what you want to do…
To
me a 10km road run is as much a ‘classic’ distance as any other, in fact it is
the cornerstone of road running. The sense of achievement in running ANY
distance is just as big, if that distance is 1 mile, 5km, 5 miles, 10km, 10 miles, half
marathon, marathon or ultra!
My
son recently run his first 5km, he did not have to stop, his sense of
achievement and my pride was just as big as when I ran my first marathon..
What
I am saying is, you set a goal, you work for it, you train hard and you achieve
it, that is FANTASTIC, it does not matter if it is one mile, 5 miles, 10 miles,
26.2 miles or even 50 miles, you did it, you achieved it and you should be very
proud.
Some never run a marathon, they are just as much runners as those who do.
We
are a Running Club, we are the BEST running Club, and all running achievements
are applauded and celebrated. We are all
part of that success!
So
whatever distance you are running this weekend, the NDVM or a 3 mile training
run, enjoy the achievement and celebrate you success, you only compete against
yourself!

Robin, Pheasants, Bluebells, Primroses, Oooh, it were luvly! I've washed my
socks twice and they're still black with mud though!
