Park Run, hashing and a few bits

New from Martin

Many thanks to those of you who came out on Good Friday for the Hash run at Montacute House - it was a cracking morning (we did manage to pick Montacute's busiest ever day - they had 1600 visitors and 23 hashers!) and we got to use some paths that we wouldn't use on Club nights and indeed, paths up and down over St Michael's Hill that I didn't even know existed until laying the course in the morning and which are far too steep for any normal run!   We had a nice hot cross bun stop looking at the Tower and it would be only rude not to make them all run up to the Tower for the beer stop!

Photos of the hot cross bun and beer stops, and the "runs" up and down the hill!

It was cracking to see nearly 180 people at the 5km in Yeovilton the other night - we also had 180 at Saturday's parkrun at Montacute House, which is now being used by several other local clubs as their Saturday morning social run and as a gentle bit of cross country to strengthen up for the proper races on the road!

The parkrun really is ideal for a first foray into off-road or beginning racing (especially as it's a "run not a race" - but tell that to anyone sprinting for the line!) and it would be good to see some more Club members out there on a Saturday morning - you just need to register at www.parkrun.com and turn up (which takes a bit of getting used to - there's no registration on the day, you just get there and run!).

Thanks to everyone who helped or took part in the EASTER BUNNY on Easter Monday, it all went off well apart from a few minor issues with some times. These are being sorted. Results and details are on the web site at this site. Great entry, excellent conditions, brilliantly organisised, well done Nick and the team.
