So many Races

The Baltonsborough 5 mile

Today saw the Baltonsborough 5 mile race, we did well and won a few prizes. The results are not out yet and no details.

Hold a Chicken in the Air

Sunday saw the East Farm Frolic race by White Star Running, the rules were simple, blow up your Chicken (if in a team) and at 8:00am start running a 3.75 lap as many times as you want for 12 hours. All of the YTRRC runners were solo runners and decided 7 laps (marathon distance) was enough, crab the medal and goodie back and head back to Somerset.

After 7 laps I manged to take first place with Paul Allen a whole 2 seconds behind me and Lynne took the first Club lady having nearly had a heart attack on lap three when someone shouted encourage to her (I got no thanks either). The medal was great as normal with WSR (see below) and also the Chicken.

I would like to add that no animals were harmed before, during or after the race (until the Hog Roast started).

Bank Holiday Monday saw another running of the Chaos Run with shoe finding and silly dancing. We had a few runners from the Club that travelled down to East Farm for it.

The Battle of Sedgemoor

The Battle of Sedgemoor is both a Somerset Series and also a Club Championship race and always a popular race for the Club with 30 runners. Lewis Bacon was the first Yeovil runner over the line with Jo Henley first lady for the Club. Well done also to Brian Mount Joy winning he's age group.  The full results can be seen here.

Stavanger Marathon

Well done to Anita and a trip to Norway for the Stavanger Marathon, a little hot but no snow.

Anita posted:

Rather warm out there today 20*c not the flattest route but some nice scenery.
Finished in 5h07m22s. Nice medal

Rob and Rachel

Congratulations to Rob and Rachel who got married last week, hope you both have a great life together.

Parrett Trail Relay

The Parrett Trail Relay is coming up soon and we need teams. See Rob Jones for details. 7 man / lady teams or mixed.

Lamb and Lion

The pub run is from the Lamb and Lion in Hambridge and to help if you can pick what you would like to eat and let Adam Hawkins know it will help the Pub out. You can see the menu here.

Maverick Original Races

Saturday morning saw a couple of the Club travel to Dorset for the Maverick Original Race, a 8.5k hilly race. Linda and Katie were given a medal and t-shirt. Well done girls but I do feel sorry for poor Steve...
