Phil Update

A couple of people have been to see Phil today, comments below...

I am told Phil had a small blood clot on the brain,  know of a couple who have been to see him, details below...

First Dave Richardson

We've just seen Phil. He's had a stroke but is in remarkably good form. When he was brought into hospital the doctor asked what he had been doing. When he said running 6 miles. “In a week?” “No, in one run.” They then put on his medical record,”Extreme Sportsman”. Phil's very proud of that classification.

And From Lin

Nothing wrong with his lungs at least - he didn't draw breath the whole time we were there!

Nice to know he is on the mend, he is hoping to be released on Friday.

A couple of things I missed yesterday

Some race information has come in

Please find enclosed details of this years Great Wishford Run. This is 10k race for 16+ and a 3k for anyone! It starts in the small village of Great Wishford, and leads through picturesque woodlands and field tracks. This race is now in its 5th year, and we would like to make it bigger than ever as this year the proceeds will go to Great Wishford Primary School and the Trussell Trust Salisbury Food Bank.
This year the event will be held on Sunday September 9th.

SPECIAL OFFER: If you enter 5 runners or more from your club, we will give you one free entry for the 10k race.

Great Wishford Run

The Studland Stampede is now in its 8th year and we are adding Chip Timing to the event. We would like to encourage as many runners as possible to enter in advance (and avoid the additional cost of entering on the day) and would be extremely grateful if you would circulate the attached entry form to your runners. For any further information about the Studland Stampede please take a look at the website

Studland Stampede

This year’s Blackdown Beauty takes place on Saturday 14th July. Have had this in from Honiton

You can download the entry form from and also send a provisional booking via the sign up form – but note a provisional booking is not a reserved place. It just lets us know an entry form is on the way. Also I can jog your memory if places are running out. However we have upped the places to 150 this year so should have plenty of space.

33 Entries received so far and Honiton RC will probably take up another 35 so still 50% left.

Please forward this email to your club members – well worth getting a car full or even a minibus trip

This year’s fancy dress theme for those who like to look like eccentric Brits is appropriately PATRIOTIC – red/white/blue, optional of course.

So get the entries in.

Blackdown Beauty

With best wishes to Phil, I am signing off. Any updates will be posted, see you all at Ninesprings
