Nice and Easy, Egdon Easy

I have just received this news from Pete, this is all I know, I will post any further news

I'm sure we would all like to wish Phil MacQuaid a speedy recovery.  He was taken ill yesterday evening after work.  He is currently in Yeovil District Hospital, ward 9A.

For those wishing to, visiting hours are 14:30 to 16:30 and 18:30 to 20:30.

Hi All, Sunday again, party time, 60 years, good old Liz, 4 days off work and the Egdon Easy, does it get any better. God Save The Queen!

Saturday saw 17 Green and Whites head for a damp and breezy Weymouth for the Egdon Easy, run by Egdon Heath Harriers, its a flat, well marshalled race that turned into a special night. Paul Rose came in 2nd in 35m 21s, Mark Wills 3rd in 36m 14s, Sam Harvey 14th in 39m 38s and a stonking sub 41 minute (40m 58s) run from Matt Driver clinched the Team Prize.

A brilliant 3rd lady prize for Rose Harvey in 44m 16s, a first in category for Pete Jakeman in 42m 50s and Lesley Nesbitt in 49m 5s rounded off a perfect evening. There were good runs for Robbie, Rod, Jon, Fred, Tony, myself, Jo, Mark, Sue and Adam to complete a great night when I was proud to wear the Green and White! Well done all!

The Ninesprings 9K

Next Sunday is the Ninesprings 9k, the committee have agreed to waive the requirement to provide a marshal if you want to run, so lets have a great turnout to support the Hospice. If you don't want to race and can help I am sure Annie would appreciate it. So get yourself entered and come along and enjoy this great little race.

Committee Meeting

CLUB JUBILEE RUN
4 JUNE - 11.00 a.m.

From Debbie via the web site!

Monday 4th June - meet at YTFC at 11 a.m. (not 10 a.m. as previously announced).

Fancy dress is completely optional but you could just wear something red/white/blue

Route is on and off road and we will go at a sociable pace - anyone running too fast will be sent ahead to open gates or get the beers in at the next pub! Providing nothing's changed since I emailed them, the pubs will be the Crown & Victoria at Tintinhull at 3 miles arriving as it opens at 12 ( we're not running THAT slowly - just that I know we won't be away spot on 11), then 4 miles to the Royal George at West Coker - arriving about 1 ish, then a further 4 miles to The Royal Oak at Hardington - we should arrive just before 2.30 p.m. - then a gentle jog the last 5 miles back to the club for Diamond Jubilee themed tea and cakes - feel free to bring a folding chair and please bring a flask of hot water if you can.

I know that's a fair way in total but anyone who's done 10 miles before should manage it as we'll be going nice and slowly. As last year feel free to get a lift arranged if you only want to do part of the route. Anyone injured and unable to run is welcome to join us by bike or car at each of the watering holes though we can't guarantee to stick to the exact times we will do our best as all the pubs are only open a short time.
Debbie

Enjoy!!!
