The Blogger Man Returns.....

Greetings, first of all a MASSIVE thank you to Matt for the posts over the last two weeks while I was in a very sunny and VERY hot Dubrovnik in Croatia. I ran 12 of the 14 days, but at 6:00am it was 30 degrees plus, so the plan to match Ultra Runner Jean Pommier's 15 mile route of hill trails was put on hold till next time, my longest was just 7.5 miles, but the hills are interesting!

By the way, Matt says 'I have just cut the elastic waistband out of my lycra shorts...Is this middle-age spread?' Let him know.

Wednesday night was the Tin Tin 10k, deep mud, lots of hills, nice evening, loads of Green and Whites, it does not get much better, and we got 1st and 2nd place, now you have got to be impressed! The results are at

Paul Rose came in first, but there were great results all round

Latest England Athletics News Letter

England Athletics

A report from Pete on the Portland 10

16th Matt Driver - 1.11.51 - need to find out what the key to his success is, seems to be running very well of late.

27th Dickie Wythe - 1.13.25 - doing well returning from injury.

45th Pete Jakeman - 1.16.30

58th Jon Crane - 1.19.07 - first 10 miler - well done

93rd John Curtis - 1.25.27

94th Simon Rowbottom - 1.25.35 - looks to have been a close run race between these two

124th Debbie Neal - 1.33.52 - found her munching on a roll after the race, said she was hungry.  I think it was a good time for her, she was going to check her records when she got home.

We did have another runner but on the results I acquired I couldn't find his name.  Apologies for that, if it's you just send your details in and you'll be put on the results.

It was windy and with the undulations of the course made for a tough 10 miler, organisation was good with plenty of marshals around the course, the water stops were frequent but if they insist on using those size cups only fill them half way.  Felt like you were drinking out of a bucket.  An observation not a criticism.  Time for a shower and a cup of tea/coffee before the prize giving.  Well done to all who took part, time to prepare for the Tin Tin 10 on Wednesday?

Latest Run Britain Information

Run Britain

To those of you who followed my April challenge and especially those who took part there has been some VERY exciting news this week on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. See the link below, there COULD be a 'cure' available by 2014. Please see the link below...Skip Duchenne

To this end I have decided, rather than another running challenge I am going to push myself to the extreme with a nice little number in August... Challenge 5  4  3  2  1. Details to follow and I am hoping one or two of you may take it on as well!

In the mean time a reminder, Richards 3 Race 2 Day challenge takes place this weekend, three tough off-road races in 2 days. All to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and support Arthur and Alfie. Richard is running the Charmouth Challenge, Maiden Castle Loop and the Quantock Beast, all in two days. Fantastic Richard, I hope it goes well and you receive plenty of support!

There will be an update on Sunday, there are loads of races, please get any comments, results, views, photo's to me as soon as possible

See you all soon

Terry
