Hi everyone,

This week was the final Yeovilton 5k of the series, big thank you to Race Director Lee, Pete and Phil for doing all the donkey work as usual, Debs and Lesley for doing the results, Martin for his help on taking the entries, Jill for the sponsorship work, Nigel for his work on the finish, all the Marshall's and entrants for this fantastic series! We had Berihu Tesfay from Ethiopia running, he completed the course in a fantastic 14:46

This weeks results are here    September 5k results

I have had this in from Lesley

Well done again Rose!!

I'm back from a 270 mile round trip to take part in a hedgehog tri event over in Sussex. These events are run by a guy called Paul Hedger at www.hedgehogtri.co.uk. Raced his events years ago and he has started up again this year with a vengeance, brilliant organisation and atmosphere. He does kids and adult races and the pricing is reasonable. I know its a long way, but watch out for them!

All the latest from Phil

Phil says ' Because of the darker evenings next Tuesdays Club Run will be Summer Route 1. There after we will be running the Winter Routes for which reflective tops are a club requirement. The club has jackets that can be purchased for £3.50p or borrowed on a nightly basis. Head torches can also be of use!

VERY IMPORTANT - CLUB DINNER - This is the social highlight of the year, it is on Friday Night the 30th of November at 7:30pm at the Football Club, and what a stonking good do it is! Be there, you could be a winner, and it is only £15 a head. Cheques to Yeovil Town Road Running Club or cash in an envelope to Phil MacQuaid. Please put on the envelope who you are paying for and the group you would like to sit with.

Wessex XC League

Paul Allen Has sent this in..

For those that want to do the Dartmoor Discovery next June there are only 40 something places left - 176 places taken in a week.......so don't delay. (32 mile Ultra)

Some interesting comments from Sally about her little Pub Run...

Just worked the route out for the pub run from the Old Pub on the 27th , its wet, muddy and we need to take some cutters down next week sometime and cut part of it back, I don't think i have ever been stung so much, not even on Phil's runs lol

More from Paul for you longer runners...

No longer run on the 23rd and I'm looking for a volunteer to lead the longer run on the 30th Sept. Come and enjoy the sunshine.

Good luck to Paul Rose in his Middle Distance Tri next week, that's a 1.9 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a half marathon (Not sure on swim distance, but I think that's right). You've trained hard Paul, so enjoy it!

To those not tormenting King Alfred next week, good luck in the New Forest Marathon, especially Matt, who I know will break 3hr 30m. I am in, if I decide to do it, he will be home having Sunday Lunch when I finish!!
