Hi All
A very wet day, a very cold day, a very busy day for the club! Great event as always organised by Phil and the team, the KAT, see below, a couple of Triathlons (The Dark Side) as Tim calls it and the New Forest Marathon and Half. a shortish post today, I will provide an update later in the week, because I am Cream Crackered!

It was The King Alfred Torment today, results will be in the results section of the Club Web Site. I am sure it was a great race despite the weather, a report to follow later in the week so watch the Blog.
Yesterday Sally came 5th lady in the Bath Novice tri, Deb had a tremendous race to finish in under 1 hour. Deb posted this:
59 minutes dead! Yeah 2 targets hit, one to get round and enjoy, second to beat the hour! I thought I was reasonably fit until the hill today!! Think I want to do another one after a lot more training! Well done Deb, Liz and Sally you were all great :)
Cris came 48th in the Langport Tri today, results at Langport Tri. Rachel Clay was 1st Lady, Awsome!
It was also the the New Forest Marathon and Half today, no results yet, but I can tell you it was very wet, very cold, very hilly and, I thought, very tough.! The only estimated times I have are Matt, in about 3h 53m and me in around 4h 4m. I did see Emily before she vanished into the distance, but more later in week.
This Thursdays Pub run from the Old Pub at Galhampton, Sally asks you all to be there at 6:30 sharp, it is cross country and we need the light, thanks. Details on web site, see link at bottom

Do you know anyone who could run the 2013 Bath Half Marathon and help a local charity raise much needed funds? This from Sarah at SWALLOW
SWALLOW is a registered charity based in Midsomer Norton that supports people with learning disabilities. We have guaranteed places available for the 2013 Bath Half. Would you be able to ask your members if they would consider taking one of these places, all they need to do is pay an entry fee of £25 and then commit to raising a minimum of £175.
Please find enclosed a poster giving more information and further copies can be posted out to you if required. It would be hugely appreciated if you could put the poster on your clubs notice board, or attach it onto your website/emails.
SWALLOW (or South West Action for Learning and Living Our Way) supports people with learning disabilities throughout the South West in a way that enhances social skills, teaches independent living skills and enriches the lives of our members. All of this is done through a program of activities that range from cookery and drama, to football and horticulture; in addition to providing supported housing, training in independent living skills and also gaining skills and experience for employment. To continue extending our reach across the local area and providing all of the activities we are continuously looking for funds. In running the Bath Half Marathon for us all monies raised would be going to make a real difference to local vulnerable people. For even more information on what SWALLOW does please go to swallowcharity
Many thanks for your help in our search for runners!
Kind regards
Sarah

This has come from Lisa Sweeting, help if you can
Dear Volunteers,
I firstly wanted to say a huge hello. I am back from maternity leave and have taken Sherborne Race for Life back from the lovely Sam Beare. I will be your main contact for next years event, if you plan to be involved.
And secondly I am trying to do a bit of chasing to encourage people to return their sponsorship money following the Race for Life in Sherborne this year, and I need your help.
I need to find any groups or individuals who took part in the event this year, and have a special, personal reason for taking part, or raised a significant amount, so that I can do a bit of a story on them and try and get something in the paper.
If you know of anyone who took part and would be interested in coming forward, could you please pass on my contact details, (see below) or give me theirs if they don’t mind me contacting them.
I’ll keep you posted on plans for next year, and thank you once again for all your help in making this years event such a success.
