60k in a Day and a trip to Swindon

 60k In A Day - A special YTRRC Day
What can I say, I am so proud to run with the Green and Whites. We had a great time and I have so much respect for Debs, Richard, Pete, Richard, Claire and all those I've missed who ran 30k or more, so impressed by those doing their 1st 10k or 20k, pure magic. To those from the dark side with bikes, amazing, mind u guys that last run was tough, to Matt and Cris and Jane on set up and all and a huge thank you to Pete, without you it would not have happened THANKS
On final comment, a special mention to those who were with me for km number 1 on 1st April in the New Forest on a similar day and were there today for km 1000. And a very special thank you to my good friend Ian Mayhew, the inspiration behind challenges to raise awareness of the evil that is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Richard Dodge thank you from my heart for the donation from your 4 race challenge. To all who donated, thank you. We will have close to £250 when I add mine and some promised. With your ok instead of this money going into a big charity pot I am going to send the money to Jenny and Tony, Alfie and Arthurs Mum and Dad, to buy a special present for the boys from YTRRC. Let me know if ok
A few comments from Facebook :

Thanks - really enjoyed it despite having only done enough training to feel comfortable running 40k ish and not 60k as hoped. I had trained well enough for the cake eating however and managed rather a lot without feeling remotely sick - Lynne's lemon drizzle, Jane's millionaire shortbread and somebody's mars bar cake were my favourite 3 .....

Thanks for a great morning to all that organised this, good effort on all those that turned up, my legs said no to a 5th leg. Cheers Deb for the early few laps. Feet up now and watching the football.

Someone once said "let them eat cake"... I think we took it literally today! Thanks to everyone. It really has been a special day, one to remember!
The greatest crowd

Me plodding round!

Remember

Lets do it again... But not to soon, I have seen Montacute 6 times this morning, that's enough for a while!

THANK YOU ALL

The London Marathon Club places draw took place at the Committee Meeting on Wednesday night.

Deb Stanfield says

The Club was awarded 3 Places for London, all names were put in a pot and pulled out one at a time.

The first 3 names have the 3 places & I need to add you to the EA system for you to complete your online entries – can  you email me to confirm that you still want the places please.  Once I receive your email, I will register you with EA and email the instructions to you.

Everyone else has a Reserve Number, at the moment I do not know if we will be able to transfer the places as we have been able to do in previous years.  But hoping that is the case and not wishing injury to any other runner. If one of the 3 has to pull out and we are able to transfer places, the 1st Reserve will take this place and we work sequentially through the Reserve Numbers, I will contact you if this happens.

Hash News

If you are not involved in the Relay to Swindon or anything else next Sunday, 18th November, Andy Goodman is laying a joint Ham Hill Hash and Blandford Hash trail from The Templars Retreat, (formerly The Royal Wessex), 3 High Street, Templecombe, BA8 0JA (I think dressing as a Knight may be optional!). Meet at 11.00am for 11.15am start. This is the normal Blandford H3 Sunday start time, and will give the Sunday training group a bit more time to get there.

Andy advises that that Sunday lunch was £6.95 and that week there was a choice of six meats, with Vegetarian option available (though the pub will need to know ahead of arrival). Can you please let me know if you’re coming, and Andy directly if you are eating in the pub afterwards andy.algoodman@tesco.net

Christmas Meal photos - A request from Martin
I'm still open to offers of photos for addition to the Christmas Meal slide show (having received none in response to previous requests!!) - I'll be finalising this after the Swindon relay on 18th November, so please send them by e-mail to martinchaffey@hotmail.co.uk or text to 07929 054576. There must be all these photos from Argentan and the races that appear in the Sunday blog - but I don't do Facebook, so it's no point just assuming I'll get any from there!!

Remember, if you still want to go to the Presentation Evening let Phil Know, see previous post.

All news of club runs, pub runs, Friday Runs, and everything else is on our fantastic web site

Have a great week, I need to do something with my legs, how DO you un-shred legs???

Train well, enjoy the relay next week and the Wimborne 10 next Sunday, those who are joining me there!

See you soon

Terry
