Christmas is coming....

A Sunday In Dorset...

On Sunday a group from the Green and Whites made the journey to Christchurch to be my guests and take part in the fast and flat Christchurch Christmas Pudding 10k.. and a great day was had by all. Adam was under the hour, Sally took 8 mins off her PB, I ran my 2nd fastest ever 10k, Pete had a good run and Matt was the first Christchurch runner, with Dave, coming back from injury also having a very good comeback run. Deb had a super performance as she continued her comeback, and Mel also was delighted with her time. Paul followed his missus home and we all grabbed our goody bags, including a Christmas pudding and headed back to mine for mulled wine, cakes, sausage rolls and mince pies. The warm mulled wine vanished quickly and a good time was had by all...

Thanks for coming guys, loved it! Entries for next year open in March!

Long Run 6th Jan from Deb

The long run on Sunday 6th January will NOT be from Montacute but instead we will meet at the Terraces in Sherborne for long runs of 7or 10  led by Jane Allen or longer and faster led by Paul Allen to be followed by a late breakfast at the Station cafe - we will need to pre-order to make sure there are enough bacon butties etc.

Swimming is a great way of getting rid of the lactic acid after a run, so the below from Lesley maybe of interest...

Swimming - Tuesday evenings 8.00-8.30 pm

Would anyone be interested in a relaxing swim after running on a Tuesday evening at Goldenstones from 8.00-8.30 pm? I can usually just about get there for 8pm from the football club. The cost in the New Year will be £2.50 per session but if you decide to come regularly I will collect 8 weeks in advance, ie £20.00. Because numbers have dropped over the past year we had to increase the fee and we are going to use half the pool, however, if I can get 10 or more new members we can go back to using the whole pool which would be a much better option. Let me know – lesley.218@hotmail.co.uk or 07436 013862. Or, of course, if you know anyone outside the running club who may be interested I would be grateful if you could pass the message on to them.

Hash News - From Martin

The Ham Hill Hash will be holding a pre-Christmas hash on Sunday 23rd December at 11am from Skippers - we will need to know numbers in order to warn the pub/arrange parking etc.

If you've not hashed before, it's a very sociable form of running, finding a trail cunningly laid with blobs of flour and suitable for runners of all abilities. It will be short and family friendly - so if you have relatives coming down for the Festivities who fancy a trot round in the countryside (with the possibility of a mince pie on the way round!), they can all come in too (and non-running family members can do a bit of very last minute Christmas shopping, Sherborne will be open for business - it's tradition to see the little Donkey in the Conduit!)

For details or to confirm numbers, contact Martin "Mixy" Chaffey on 07929 054576 or martinchafffey@hotmail.co.uk

Happy Christmas!

Train well, enjoy the base miles, see you all soon

Happy Christmas Shopping (No such thing!!)

Everything else is on the web site!!

See next week for all the Christmas runs, walks and everything else!
