Midweek News

Evening All

Sally Walford passes on the following...
I am planning on doing a 6 mile run on Saturday morning from the football club (unsure if we can park in the grounds?) leaving at 9.15am ish Paul Allen has a route and Debbie Neal said she would bring up the rear again if anyone fancies it.........

Sunday run- Fiona Gaffney and myself will be doing a 8 mile continuous 9.15 to 9.30 min mile pace (this will be faster than last week) anyone that wants to join us will be welcome, we are using this run as training for ourselves and regret we will not be stopping........

TUESDAY slow continuous run next week will be 5 miles at 10 minute miles pace, again with no stopping, this mean it will be faster than last week.
I understand there are still people running with a slower pace, but with the group being so large we are struggling to cater for everyone and so if anyone could help to lead the slower pace group please let me know........
Paul Allen is doing the Gloucester Marathon this week, there will still be a longer run group on Sunday at Goldenstones, pray Glouscester is on, otherwise Paul will be there to drive you on!

The Inca Trail, 10th February, a Multi terrain race of approximately 7 miles along the droves, tracks and footpaths of the 'Ilchester Andes', looking out for llamas as you go. Or try the more sedate journey through the foothills on the 2.9 mile Yak Trak - or the 1 mile Guinea Pig Gallop.

All the details Just here

The latest Real Buzz new letter is here

There is the latest 5km at Boscombe sea front on Friday, good chance for a PB as it is FLAT out and back on the sea front. details are at this link

The link below will take you to the Marwell 10km details, a long way from Yeovil I know, but a great day on 12th May with the family and a challenging 10km into the bargain. I have done it for the last few years. It is a popular and well attended event. A run through the Zoo and then out into the hilly local countryside. A nice day out see the link blow.

Zoo 10km

Please see the e-mail below from Sherborne regarding the Meerssen Marathon, though other distances available.

Please see below that the Meerssen Marathon, an annual event, will be held this year in our partner town in Holland  on Sunday 8th September.

Please let runners and interested individuals and groups know of this event.

I note that we do not seem to have a running club in Sherborne and whilst I have informed our schools and some sports clubs I thought that “Yeovil Town Road Running Club” might be interested, especially as I understand that some of your runners come from the Sherborne and villages area.

People from Sherborne who want to take part will be assured of a warm welcome by our Dutch partners and as you can read it includes an opportunity for a relay Marathon.

I passed the information about last year’s event onto your club, but did not hear if you took part. If this events are not of interest then please let me know.

If you or others would be interested then please inform Mary Clothier on marydmc38@gmail.com and she will pass your details on for you to make further contacts.

Kind regards
Kevin

Great club night around a cold Yeovil last night, many different options, I went out with Lesley's tempo group, covering seven miles with two 'nice' hills. A really nice run with good company, good to see Richard back from a hot Tasmania enjoying the refreshing airs of Yeovil Town Centre. There were some great efforts up the hills and a very close group in terms of keeping together, so little chance for rest for us 'Oldies'.

There was the beginners group with Debbie, the 'slow' half marathon group with Sally, 6 miles with Phil, 7 miles with Malcolm, a fast tempo with Matt, another 7 mile group with Malcolm, hill reps with Nick etc brilliant! If you don't come along you are really missing out.

Phil can always do with run leaders on a Tuesday night, if you are not already a run leader and would consider having a go, have a chat with Phil or Matt and they will explain, if you are a Leader please come along when you can!

More at the weekend

Terry
