9 weeks, 10 weeks, 11 weeks.. 3 in 3

For Valentines Week, especially those who ran Thursday

Thanks Julie

Hi everyone, so much going on, so busy I feel a bit detached...  So many working towards their half marathon or marathons this spring. I must mention Paul, Sally Anita, Debbie, Pete, Phil and everybody else involved, what a club we belong to.

There are runs Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, speed sessions on Fridays, not all official club events, but if you want me to advise where and when you are running I will put it on the blog for those not on Facebook so others can join, drop me a line on tbyrne@crownpetfoods.co.uk and watch the blog. All the club and pub runs are on the on the web site

A comment from Sally on this Saturdays run....Good turn out again for the Saturday run, thanks to Lynne Thumpstone for dragging me around :) next week can we not do that hill!!!

From Debbie for Sunday morning:  9am Goldenstones for the long runs. Unless you're REALLY keen and want to come at 8.30am and do a loop of 2- 3 extra miles.

North Dorset Village Marathon has 25 Green and Whites Racing. Good turn out but sure we can make it more

A reminder from Pete, details have been on the blog before, but sorry for the short notice...
All you budding Marathoners, Sunday 17th Feb at 0900. There will be a Training session which will involve classroom and track work given by Adrian Marriott at the Olympiads Clubhouse. For those coming please bring a change of clothing for use on the track and something to wear in the classroom. Keep an eye on the weather forecast for the weekend to ensure you have sufficient/correct clothing. We will provide tea/coffee but bring your own "food/snacks". For those still undecided, if you want to come along then there is a small charge of £5.00 per person. Last year we held a similar session for people wishing to run half marathons, the general opinion was that is was very worthwhile.

Don't forget you can always do your long run after the session using all your new found information?

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go."From Paul Allen, Mr Marathon

Don't forget the Great Western, see This Link

Cris and Jill are very proud parents after their boy Luke had a great run in the Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill today, in an age group with most boys older than him. Well done Luke from all at YTRRC

Anybody doing the Black Death Run this year? A nice warm down the week after for all you marathon runners?! I went last year and surprised myself at how well I did as was part of the 3% who ran all the way (ran being more like small steps with running motion!) Let me know and can go up in a car load perhaps?

From the web site... Welcome to the Black Death Run, probably the toughest off road run in the Country, yet still very achievable for even a modest runner. It is estimated that less than 3% of last years runners ran the entire course, most walked the steepest hills. So join the crowd, run when you can, walk when you cannot, and enjoy the fabulous surroundings that this private estate offers.

May be a nice warm down, the week after completing 3 marathons in 3 weeks....

Please see the previous post for details of the Swindon Relay and let Sally know if you want to take part...

This Sunday is the Lytchett Manor 10, a nice lumpy little number with most of the last 2 miles down hill. See me there and enjoy.

I note several club runners, including Paul, Leslie and David are doing London and North Dorset Marathons, fantastic guys. I have decided to stick Stratford in the middle, so by NDV I will be crawling. Once again I am trying to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and this time I really do wonder if I have bitten off more than I can .... But lets not go there! If you can help fight this terrible disease there is a just giving site, this has been set up by my friend Ian and currently refers to Ians last challenge, it will be updated shortly to talk about 3 in 3.

It is primarily about raising awareness, but if you can help, the site is there.. (639 is the number of muscles in the human body...)

Don't forget the club run Tuesday at the Football Club, with Hill Reps if you want them... Lots of options to cover all your objectives...

Everything else is on the web site.

I am hoping to be there Tuesday.

See you all soon

Set your goals, train hard and go out there and achieve... you compete against only one person, yourself..

All the best
