Welcome to to blog post number 99, congratulations to Paul Allen, Mr Marathon, who completed his 125th Marathon in Barcelona today in a stonking time of 3hrs and 4 mins.
The following messages came in from Paul while we were all struggling through gales, snow, hail rain and cold, not that we are jealous!
Checking in from Barcelona.........the bad news is I didn't achieve the 3:10 I was hoping for.......the good news is 3:04 wasn't too shabby :-)
Weather was kind and quite a decent course, a bit more up and down than I was expecting but felt good all the way round today.
Hope the Sunday runs were good - missed the tea and cake.
Great morning out at the Barcelona Marathon, nice race, reasonably interesting route and a run that just flowed. Pleased with a quickish time for me and marathon 125 done.
London now 6 weeks away, North Dorset just 8 weeks and Yeovil Half next week... Its all getting close.
This Tuesday is the return Swindon to Yeovil run and relay, good luck to everyone taking part, awesome effort raising funds for Somerset Air Ambulance and the Football Trust. See the web site for details from this link
Swindon Challenge
Lesley Nesbitt sent in the following
Perfect weather conditions but Horrendous underfoot conditions for Butleigh 7 and a bit miles this morning. Challenging mud of the slippery kind, deep puddles, hills and lovely views. Well done 1st lady Rose. FV55 for me - it's good to be old! Another bottle of wine I'll have to drink!
Nice one Rose and Lesley, great stuff for the Green and Whites. - No results available yet, check later in the week..
Sally could do with some help with the Club Championships, the Combe St. Nicholas 10k held in March has not published club membership with the results. Please can you contact Sally with your result if you took part.... Thanks
Matthew Driver was a bit bored this morning and wanted everyone to know....
I thought I'd do a bit of adding up...turns out I completed 1300 miles of YTRRC club race miles at last weeks Leweston race. It's taken slightly less than 169 hours at an average pace of 7:47 minutes per mile.
Just thought you might want to know!:-)/ Meanwhile ...

Andrew Brown , along with others was putting 20 more miles in the bank... he said thanks for the route Fiona, not so hilly :-) and thanks to David Kate and Anita for keeping me going. Next up Swindon... bring it on!
I went down to Exbury Gardens this morning, it was cold, bleak, there were hail storms but the 10k race was flat with some beach thrown in, enjoyed it. 1st Green and White home, and the last!!!

Phil MacQuaid is looking for volunteers to help man the Club Gazebo at Yeovil Football club during the Yeovil Half Marathon as we support our club runners and recruit new members. Will be required any time after 7.30AM till about midday. Let Phil know.
Anita Farquhar Rufus came up with the following wonderful idea..
Some of us are 'thinking' about entering Bristol Half Marathon on 15th Sept this year, the cost is £32 + a £3 booking fee. But if YTRCC pre-booked 10 places we would get 25% off! Is there enough interest in this race to put it to the club committee to block book places? It would also mean the club has at least 10 green and whites running :)
As a result of the post on Facebook there has already been loads of interest. The more who enter the greater the reduction in the entry. James Day has agreed to help organise.
