I have had these in from Lee and Mike
From Lee
Whilst
most people were focusing on London this weekend, Mike Harvey and I were
tackling the Jurassic Coast Oner - 78.6 miles (ie 3 marathons back to back)
over the South Coast Path. Weather was perfect for a really great and
well organised event that I would fully recommend to anybody that fancies an
extreme challenge next year.
It
was the first time I had gone beyond the marathon distance and it looks like
maybe I've found my ideal event as I somehow managed just under 19 hours and
from 9th place with 15 miles to go a strong finish saw me get a very unexpected
3rd place. And to top it off, very kind donations from friends and family
saw me raise £1,345 for Cancer Research UK. Not sure how Mike finished but he
was certainly still looking strong when I last saw him at halfway.
And from Mike
Lee Harwood
and I did the Oner on Saturday and Sunday. Self navigating through the night,
over 80 miles of coastal path all along the Jurassic coast from Charmouth to
the Ferry at Studland. Lee did brilliantly in his first Ultra, running on his
own, to get 3rd place. I think I was 11th out of 22 finishers. I have no times
yet I am afraid, but know that I was under 21 hours. Feel very chuffed but my legs are wrecked. Had
to climb the stairs on hands and knees and come down on my backside!
Amazing Lee and Mike, makes marathons sound like a walk in the park. I hope to try one at the end of the year, but nearer 50 miles! Be proud!
And so to the London Marathon, well done everyone. Special mentions for Lesley, 11th in category and sub 4 hours for the first time I think, to Martin Smith, 25th in category and Rose 76th in category and sub 3:30. 132nd in category for Gareth and top 500 for Julie in her category. A massive well done to everyone, some bloke called Mo dropped out after 13 miles, so all be very proud!

9771 1998 11 Lesley Nesbitt 3:55:45
2334 2167 25 Martin Smith 3:11:40
And a great result from Paul running for the 100 Marathon Club, finishing in 3:06:49. I know how much support he has given many of you, nice one Paul. I think that was marathon number 128... David Lloyd did 4hrs 33 mins, but says he ran 26.76 miles!!
Results from the VLM web site, sorry if I have missed anyone!
A note from Lesley..
Hope you enjoyed the soak Lesley..
