Sorry everyone, but first something personal from me... A week ago I had my first bad injury for at least 3 years, lucky really, but when it comes it is 2 weeks before London and the start of my 3 in 3 challenge, I hoped and hoped for a week but in the end I had to admit defeat and accept there was no way I was going to be ready for London. Starting and then breaking down after a few miles would have been even worse than deferring to next year.
I would just like to thank everyone for their fantastic support, I was completely gutted, I don't think, in my complete running history,I have ever been so down and fed up. But I would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive, from Mr Marathon, Paul, to Sally, Deb, Bryn, Matt, Kat, David, Gill, Cris, Paul, Lesley, and everyone else, it pulled me out of it and has made me see even more what a great club we belong to, the very, very best... And I can make decisions, get up in the morning, get better and run again, feed myself, not need support to walk a few paces and not have my head fall to one side, with no chance of getting better. Knee injury is nothing....
I will complete 3 in 3, as soon as I get the all clear from the Doc marathons will be booked, for Alfie and Arthur, because they deserve and need all the support possible, and because I can.. Hoping to be at NDV.
Thank you
And now for those who can run, please support them all, GO AND ENJOY, Lesley is running and I know will do a great time, good luck to Andrew, Julie and Paul and everyone else taking part ...
