One Week To London

The Virgin London Marathon

Sorry everyone, but first something personal from me... A week ago I had my first bad injury for at least 3 years, lucky really, but when it comes it is 2 weeks before London and the start of my 3 in 3 challenge, I hoped and hoped for a week but in the end I had to admit defeat and accept there was no way I was going to be ready for London. Starting and then breaking down after a few miles would have been even worse than deferring to next year.

I would just like to thank everyone for their fantastic support, I was completely gutted, I don't think, in my complete running history,I have ever been so down and fed up. But I would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive, from Mr Marathon, Paul, to Sally, Deb, Bryn, Matt, Kat, David, Gill, Cris, Paul, Lesley, and everyone else, it pulled me out of it and has made me see even more what a great club we belong to, the very, very best... And I can make decisions, get up in the morning, get better and run again, feed myself, not need support to walk a few paces and not have my head fall to one side, with no chance of getting better. Knee injury is nothing....

I will complete 3 in 3, as soon as I get the all clear from the Doc marathons will be booked, for Alfie and Arthur, because they deserve and need all the support possible, and because I can.. Hoping to be at NDV.

Thank you

And now for those who can run, please support them all, GO AND ENJOY, Lesley is running and I know will do a great time, good luck to Andrew, Julie and Paul and everyone else taking part ...

Lesley, supporting St.Margarets

Last Wednesday was the first Yeovilton 5km of the 'Summer' and in true English Summer style in poured with rain. Thank you for everyone who came and helped. A special well done to Stephanie Hopkins who ran her 1st ever race in a great time..

A very happy Stephanie Hopkins with Brian Mountjoy-Row the Yeovil 5km Race Director after finishing her first Race Wednesday night. She had a great run and should be really proud of her Race Time and running

Pen Selwood 10k, fairly sheltered so not too windy. Hilly though, but with some nice downs to compensate the demon ups! Well done Yeovil - Sarah Trim 1st lady, Rose 2nd lady, Nick 1st vet, Pete 2nd vet. Creme egg for all finishers went down well with a cuppa. Results are on: Results
I understand Rose was 2nd lady.

The Honiton Hippo today..

Well done the Green and Whites

Looks cold Chrissy

Jon Slack said ' It was really tough. I the bank at the other end was so slippery, you really needed help getting out, and then you were wet and cold and still had half a mile uphill to run in sodden clothes. Well done all Yeovil peeps there.
