Back Home.. And Ninesprings and Marathons and Triathlons

Hi All

Well I am back, you might have noticed I have been away, in Malta, in the hot sun. I have come back hoping to get some news on my injury when I see the orthopaedic specialist privately on Wednesday evening. So I hope to be back this year!

Today was Ninesprings 9km day, results to follow later in the week.

Kat and Rich would like to thank all who came along to help or run the race and 2k fun run today. A  lovely morning out. Race Directors Kat and Richard really appreciate all who came along to help

Results to follow and more cake info from Kat...

Fiona Gaffney has asked all her friends at the club....’those who I have bored will know I am doing a stupid number of events that consist of long distance, mud, cold, water, electrocution and many other things and are highly likely to end up in bruises, swearing, exhaustion, more lost toe nails. Please support me if you can, a fantastic local charity. Thank you. Fiona is supporting St. Margaret's Hospice

Results came in for the Dartmoor Discovery while I was away..

Update on course conditions, at the moment the course is in a very good condition. there is very little muddy areas and good under foot on all areas.
Paul Allen is involved in a road trip being planned for next Jan/Feb - Celebration marathon (Orlando on 26 Jan, road trip followed by New Orleans marathon on 2 Feb).
Not a club trip, just a few like minded marathon runners who fancy 2 marathons and a bit of fun in the FL and LA sunshine (and perhaps the odd beer). If you're interested then come and have a chat with Paul.
Darren Atyeo is recently back from the Round the Island ultra. 1st day came in eleventh but are still      waiting for final results for the 2 days.
Darren said - Overall a Tough 70 miles but awesome scenery & weather. Glad I booked a day off work tomorrow :-)

Had the following in from Paul and Jane..

Truly beautiful out there today on the Somerset Levels, great day on Day 1 of the Langport Festival and Marathon

Paul finished Marathon 130 on day 1. He sent big thanks to Paul Meadows, Richard Boulter and Dave Hall.

Well done to the Langport team for organising another fun route (apart from the nettles), same again tomorrow said Paul as he contemplated doing it all again today..

Jane Elizabeth Mills said ‘I was last seen 8.30 Langport, some got confused on the 20k, so good luck on the 40k. I"m really proud of myself, 4 cows ran towards me in a field, I stood still, stuck my arms out, prayed!, they slowed down to a walk and escorted me to the nearest exit, fun fun fun, but was a lovely morning and run,

See you all at Ninesprings. Well done Jane!

Paul Allen has said he got home safe and sound with only 2 small navigational uncertainties - thanks to Richard Boulter and Paul Meadows for the excellent company.

Paul is back safe from Marathon 131, sending the following…

Another cracking day out @ Langport, marathon number 131 in the sunshine. Different route today and some parts were in more familiar territory (Ilchester, Tintinhull, Norton sub Normal, Ham Hill etc).

And finally a massive well done to Deb and Sian on completing the Blenhiem Triathlon, great stuff both of you, when was the Ironman???

I have only been home a short while, so sorry its short, sorry if I have missed anyone and sorry if I have missed anything out, will try and do an update in the week..

I wish I could say it’s good to be home and to be going back to work tomorrow, but its not so I won’t..

Everything else is on the web site

See you all soon,

Terry
