Seaview, Trailwalker and the London Tri

Richard Dodge sent me details of the Seaview, a nice little 20 miler last weekend

Today at the seaview 17 20.5 mile multi terrain well done to Simon and Lesley who got around in 4-19-00 a very hard run a great team effort all crossed the finish line linking hands.

And as Captain Lesley said - Well done to Rich too, it was a brilliant event with beautiful views and, as Rich said a great team effort. I am now back to the holiday at Kingswear. My legs wouldn't work when I got out the car, so just a chilling evening with a pastie and wine I think!!

The results are on Seaview

Meanwhile Guy was completing the Trailwalker and sent this in... Just a little 64 miles

I completed Trailwalker in the early hours of Sunday Morning, a 64 mile run over the South Downs 17 hrs and 48 mins. One of the team pulled his hamstring so slowed us down. A really well organised event. Feet are a bit sore but nothing loads of food can't sort out. Hopefully will be back to normal running by the end of this week.

And a fantastic weekend for Debs, supported by Dave she did the London Tri Sprint event, she sent this..

Did the London Sprint Triathlon - time of 2:27:31 but really enjoyed it, great effort Deb

And finally Nick was at the Bath Festival of Running and was looking good

In from Nick after the Bath Running Festival

Hi everyone,

First - and foremost, Flora tells me - is Flora's victory in the 10k at the festival - first female vet60+! Sadly I've not been able to find any photos of her but they might get posted later.

The full results are in here:
Festival Results

Flora was 106th out of 123, the winner's time 44:24, hers 1:17:33

In the marathon I was 7th  in 4:17:34, the winner's 3:48:08, and 96 made it to the end of an off-road course that had quite a lot more than 2000 ft of climbing.

The marathon was the final piece of the super-slam jigsaw - I set myself the challenge when  I turned 60 that I would get my ss hat with a string of age category  wins. To my surprise it has been at the first attempt at each distance:

Street 5k,
Salisbury 10mile,
Yeovil half - in March
Compton Downland Challenge 40 miles,
Penselwood 10k in April
And Sunday's Marathon!

For the record, I beat all the vet 50 entrants as well; eight runners pulled out after the first lap of the hills to get a half-marathon time and there were some complete puller outers.

I hate to say it but the hardest thing since turning sixty is remembering to inform you if we've run in a club championship race!!! How are the minds of the younger club members?

Hope to see you all soon

Nick

Fantastic Results Nick, well done, the hat will look good

Terry
