Tin Tin Ten 2014
Guy is getting
together a group of idiots, whoops, slip of the tongue, a group of athletes who
might be interested in doing this little 64 miles. I have already expressed my interest
to the organisers. Link below for more info..
A couple of weeks ago a group of runners went to Illminster and ran the route of the now
cancelled Illminster 10km. For those who do not know this road had to be
stopped due to the costs from Somerset Council for closing the road.
It was a great turn out from Yeovil and other local clubs
and over £100 was raised for The Lions. Well done everyone.
From Me :
Previous efforts for DMD |
As part of his efforts to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, my good friend and coach Ian Mayhew is
undertaking his 3rd Festive Challenge. In 2011 it was the 12 days of Christmas,
last year it was 24 days, this year it is the 36 days leading up to 31st
December. He will run 639k, cycle 639k and climb 639 flights of stairs (works
in tall building). There are 639 muscles in the human body.
To support Ian, as injury prevents running, I will be swimming 639 lengths
and cycling 639km. Does anyone else fancy taking part in this challenge by
doing 639 of something as a celebration of Christmas?
As an individual or a group (100 members doing 6.39 miles?) it is about
raising awareness but there will be a fund raising page!
Great training, great fun and for a great cause. There will be a blog etc.
Be part of it for Alfie and Arthur.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO DO 639 OF ANYTHING…

Laura Coppard said she really enjoyed the Parkrun
this morning, got a new pb of 23:47, 23 seconds off! The warm up run in really
helped, thanks Pete. So proud of my mum who took part in her first Parkrun and
did it in a time of 35:17! Go mum!
