News from the Tin Tin 10 organisers..

Thanks to all of you that have supported us over the last few year.  Were delighted to announce that Tin Tin Ten will be back in 2014 on Wednesday 4 June 2014.  We will keep you posted as and when we have some news.

Best Wishes,

Team Tin Tin Ten 2014

Guy is getting together a group of idiots, whoops, slip of the tongue, a group of athletes who might be interested in doing this little 64 miles. I have already expressed my interest to the organisers. Link below for more info..

A couple of weeks ago a group of runners went to Illminster and ran the route of the now cancelled Illminster 10km. For those who do not know this road had to be stopped due to the costs from Somerset Council for closing the road.

It was a great turn out from Yeovil and other local clubs and over £100 was raised for The Lions. Well done everyone.

From Me :

Previous efforts for DMD

As part of his efforts to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, my good friend and coach Ian Mayhew is undertaking his 3rd Festive Challenge. In 2011 it was the 12 days of Christmas, last year it was 24 days, this year it is the 36 days leading up to 31st December. He will run 639k, cycle 639k and climb 639 flights of stairs (works in tall building). There are 639 muscles in the human body.

To support Ian, as injury prevents running, I will be swimming 639 lengths and cycling 639km. Does anyone else fancy taking part in this challenge by doing 639 of something as a celebration of Christmas?

As an individual or a group (100 members doing 6.39 miles?) it is about raising awareness but there will be a fund raising page!

Great training, great fun and for a great cause. There will be a blog etc. Be part of it for Alfie and Arthur.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO DO 639 OF ANYTHING…

Laura Coppard said she really enjoyed the Parkrun this morning, got a new pb of 23:47, 23 seconds off! The warm up run in really helped, thanks Pete. So proud of my mum who took part in her first Parkrun and did it in a time of 35:17! Go mum!

Phil MacQuaid sent the following about the
YTRRC ANNUAL DINNER & PRESENTATION NIGHT.
If you signed up for the dinner and have not yet paid can you confirm your intentions with Phil ASAP.
We are strictly limited to 110 people and we are almost there.
If you are veggie or vegan can you please let Phil know.
He says ‘All club members are welcome to attend the presentations even if you are not eating. I would imagine they will start about 2030 ish. The bar will be open & Pete & I will be happy to drink with anyone’
And don’t forget a load of us are putting on the black tie and the ladies are getting out the posh frocks. Be there and enjoy!

Richard Dodge said the yomping Yeoters went to the Yarcombe Yomp, 10 miles in driving rain on the first lap and sun on the second lap with lots of cow mud "smell" (the inside of my car) and a double header hill, add great soup and cake in the hall made it a super day

That’s it for now, so busy, more as soon as I can.....

All the best

Terry
