Paul Allen posted this on Facebook, Mr Marathon can help you achieve that classic distance
So a new
training year beckons with many about to start their marathon journey and many
others set to continue theirs. Looking for any suggestions that are out there
for ways in which club runs could provide more (marathon) training
benefit........e.g. longer run on a Tues night, more sessions midweek, longer
run on Sun etc. Good ideas welcome. What is missing at the moment?

Something for your diary
It is
my intention to put together a 6 mile loop in the New Forest based from
Holmsley (the old airfield with good parking), on a Sunday, in April, avoiding
London.
I intend to arrange a group of like minded people to run 1, 2 or
possibly 3 loops from the Car Park. It will be all off road and will be aimed
at ALL abilities, it's fun/training, not a race. Great Marathon/half marathon training.
I hope the Yeovil Sunday group
will come over on tour that day. We will follow up with a bbq or grub, cakes and drinks
at mine.
Open to everyone so please pass the word. Firm date and more to follow soon. It is not a
fund raiser but we will be raising awareness of Duchenne MD. It will be a
course to suit all.
I hope you will all come and enjoy the Beautiful
Forest off road in the spring with a few little ‘challenges’ like sand, hills and a bit
of soft wet stuff!
Some information from Martin
- Saturday 21/12 parkrun at Montacute House
It's Christmas come early at Saturday's parkrun, so break out your festive fancy dress (or recycle the suit from today's Santa Dash!) ready for the 9am start - we've had a lot of Yeovil runners already take part but it would be good to see some more! As added incentive there is a free bacon bap for all runners who buy a hot drink in the Courtyard café after the run!!
- Sunday 22/12 Hash
The hash is still set for this coming Sunday - 11am at the Three Elms, North Wootton. The pub looks good now so let me know if you're coming - there's a beer stop and a mince pie stop planned and I'd hate for you to miss out!
If you've not tried a hash before, they are really good fun - we'll lay a course of flour blobs around and about, with false trails aplenty, so it suits runners of all abilities (as we get the fast ones finding those false trails first!). Have a look at the page on the Club website. Click link
Hash for some more details.

Seasons greetings, see you all soon
