Park Run News from Martin

If you've been wondering why yesterday's parkrun at Montacute House was cancelled, I have put some photos up on the Flickr page Park Run Photo's - you'll see that the route was a bit on the damp side!

It is regrettable when we have to cancel the weekly run, but we enjoy use of Montacute House and the park with the kind assistance of the National Trust and we have to respect their wishes; if we had 120 runners charging round, whilst it would have been good fun but absolute carnage, and we want NT to let us keep using the place!George, our contact at Montacute, has indicated that he'll assess the course on Wednesday to see how the course is looking and whether we'll be able to have next Saturday's run. Watch this space for details.

With the weather forecast and the likelihood of frost, snow, floods in the coming weeks, we may have occasion to cancel the weekly run - if this does happen, and you want only a 3-4 mile run rather than the longer Club run from opposite the FootbaIl club, I will go to Montacute House on those days so if anyone wants a run (albeit it won't be a formal parkrun), they can join me at 9am for a little trot instead; we can still have a bacon sandwich afterwards!
