Another weekend has come and gone. Hope you managed some decent runs despite the floods and the weather. I went to the Devils Punch Bowl in Surrey to join some friends for ' O Ooooh 7', 2 laps of hills, mud, lots of mud, deep mud, hail storms, wind, fallen trees, a total of 17.5 miles, training for The Grizzly!
My legs are shredded, and then tonight...

So staying locally decided to go for a run from Goldenstones in YEOVIL, and you've guessed, I got totally and completely lost, I was sure that alley went somewhere. Finally back after good 7.5 miles. Glad there's a run leader tomorrow!

Hi Terry, just to let you know that Sam ran this 32 mile coastal trail ultra during Saturday's gales and hailstorms. It was held at Beesands on the southernmost tip of Devon and was originally to be 34 miles but the appalling weather meant that it had to be rerouted away from the more dangerous trails.
He had not run once in the last month and struggled over the first 20 miles but took some caffeine gels and had a tremendous second half, overtaking at least twenty people to finish 23rd out of 73 starters in 6:45:39.

Hi
We have set up a weekly Saturday club for disabled people in Yeovil, the club is open to anyone 10 years upward and all disabilities. We have chosen our name and now have a logo.
Many of the participants have severe learning disabilities and this is the first time they have become a member of a club or community group, we feel we need to have a very visual statement so they can easily recognise they are part of the club.
We have chosen lime green T-shirt which will have the SAS logo and SASP on the front. Some of our members will find it difficult to find the cost of the T-Shirt and so Ian has made a funding application, if he is successful we will use the money to reduce the cost of the T-shirts.
The application with the most votes by Sunday 16th February will receive the funding, so we are hoping you will vote for us, to do so please click on the link below

On Sunday 2nd March you can join us for
a Recce Run of the entire Half Marathon Route. The run will be led by runners
with knowledge of the route, in a number of 'paced' groups. There will be a
pace for everyone. Both events are totally free of charge.
Meeting at Nuffield Health, Yeovil at 08.45hrs for a 09.00hrs Start. Simply make yourself known at Reception, and you will be able to use the Showers, changing rooms, Pool and Sauna once you return from the run. It would be good if you let us know your intention to attend the Recce, so we can plan a space for the pre-recce Briefing.

Pete, could
you do me a favour please and get details of this race to YTRRC members? It's
the same day as the Yeovil Half which I know will mean that not many will be
interested but for anybody not running or helping out there it sounds like a
nice little race. It's another Lions event but one of our club mates is doing
the Race Admin and helping them out. Details are below.
