Lovely Day for a Picnic

Sunday for Ice Cream and Cake

Another beautiful day for running in Somerset and Montacute was the venue for Sunday run. As is Club tradition Tea and Cake was served on the Lawn. Phil sorry for the Ice Cream wrappers on your Window......

Shepton Beauchamp 10k

Another good turnout for the Green and Whites at the 10k the results are not out yet.

Great North Run

Well done to Brian Keith Lane who completed the GNR, sadly he was not the 1,000,000 finisher but he managed 02:12:03  and 18818th. Once again well done.

South Somerset and Moors Marathon

Saturday saw eight YTRRC members complete the SLaMM and three did the Half Marathon.  The day started off cloudy with the threat of rain and then came the Sun and it did get hot. The race itself starts with a downhill stretch then flat for most of the race and then at the 25 mile point there is a slight incline back to the top and the Camp site.

Medals for all the finishers and then the Post Marathon routine. Well done to Richard Boulter for getting best time in his group.

It was a lovely day and the event is very well organised and above all local and I would encourage more of the Club to have a go.

Rose Appleby, Katrina Kirstï Harris, and Nathan Gardiner both completed the Half so well done and it was also Nathans first Half.

The Park Run is One

On Saturday it is the 1st birthday celebration for the parkrun at Montacute House and we're having a party! There have been 94 YTRRC members take part over the year and it would be really good if all of you could join us again on Saturday (and bring your friends to get us up to 100!) - imagine what it would look like if you all turned up in your Green and Whites (it used to be impressive enough having 50 running in the Monty!).. although the theme is red, white and blue, I reckon there's enough white on the vests to count!

If you've not run parkrun before, you do need to register first at www.parkrun.com and get a barcode - after that you just turn up! We are having a warm up organised by Deb Glover at 8.40 so make sure you get there nice and early!

Cheers
