Shepton to Portsmouth

Marathon Mike

A Green and White in the bible belt

Happened I was passing through Carolina at the weekend:

Happened there was a marathon on and they were taking late entries:

Hadn’t done a long run since Salisbury in August, however.....................................
All organised in a similar spirit to the Salisbury 54321 but with a difference. The route passed 5 Baptist churches, 4 catholic churches, 3 Lutheran churches, 2 Methodist churches and 1 pub (which was closed)!

And the race was held on Saturday so we could all go to church this morning.

Run was going really well, then my right knee cried enough around 20 miles, can barely walk at the moment, need some of Pete’s magic treatments.

The Stickler

The Club had runners at the Stickler getting in the Champs points for the awards night. No results in yet but well done all those that raced there.

This in from Richard

"YTRRC BREAKING WIND AT THE STICKLER!!!! . The Stickler is like a fart in the windmills of my mind with the tears of my eyes trickling down to the pools of my hart after each hill my legs are telling me to slow down my hart saying speed up . The Stickler is where the hills and train goes nowhere , always look forward to the station coffee café still open 50+ years after the last train , good time and times had by all well done A LOVELY RACE IN DORSET . Onwards and upwards THE GREEN AND WHITES. XXX"

Sunday at Goldenstones

Whilst the new Cafe is still not open (Tues is the big opening), YTRRC took to the hills and had the normal Tea and Cakes on a nice mild Autumn Day. A good turn out so well done all and also to those that didn't run but turned up with food :). You can see the new cafe in the back ground. We will stick to our own tea and cakes as they are much much better and more choice. Although Kimberley was disappointed that Phil never had any Cappuccino.

The Great South Run

YTRRC also had runners at the Great South Run the best 10 mile race in the world (so they say). I think the weather was better than lasts years winds but the last 2 miles is always into the wind and hard work. So well done to all that entered, nice Medal and T-Shirts. If you can email me or pm your results and race numbers I will add to the website.

Park Run

The Park Run on Saturday morning still has a very good turnout and it is nice to see the kids running their hearts out and disappointed if they miss a PB. Not like the YTRRC runners that managed to bag their own PB's so well done, take Sunday off.

Katie steams pass Brian

Shepton Mallet 10k

Those still chasing Hats headed to Shepton for the 10k, some PB's achieved as well so good running. Dave have you lost your Green Shorts?

Notices

The Awards night is a sell out as normal so well done all, just make sure those that still need to pay to give the money to Phil.

So I can update the results page on the website I need your results, If I have time I do look them up but some sites are slow at getting them up so it can take a while. If you look at the results page and then give me your results in that format I will add them. Thanks.

We also have had new Social Rep now that Annie Ashmead has gone to a sunny place so welcome to Katie Brooks who has stepped up. Stand by....
