The River Parrett Trail

Get Your Bike Out

Jo, Debbie and Dave took to the water and streets for the Triathlon and this came in from Jo:

We did it!! I have no idea what time but it was good fun. Well the mountain we had to ride up & Debbie Keeble's strop were not as enjoyable but now we have our medals, a bacon roll & a cuppa, we are both smiling!!

Dave has promised to give the Postman his bike back ready for Monday's round. Well done Dave and the girls. Brownlee Brothers watch out...

Club Award Night

With the award night approaching we need all of you to complete the forms for the Awards. These are available online and also on Tuesday Club Nights so please complete one and hand it to Phil or Pete. If you are unsure on some of the awards then vote for what you can.The more we get in the better.  Thanks

Castle Cary 10k

For some the Parrett was not enough and decided to Race the 10k at Castle Cary. Even on his birthday Darren turned up for this long race for him.  No results are in yet at time of posting this but well done all.

YTRRC Dancing Team
They all got their medals at the end but were very hungry so tried to eat them.

Well done all

Parrett Relay

Matt Driver organised this years event and must be congratulated on getting four teams on the start line and all legs. Even with the odd people unable to run for whatever reasons  pulling out on Thursday he still managed to fill the teams, so well done Matt. Have some cheese on toast.

Malcolm sent this in from Leg 2. All made it round and no-one got lost
Leg 5 Team ready to go....

This in from Matt:

"Good to see all the posts about The Parrett Trail...Thanks to everyone who ran (including those who were in from the start, plus our emergency recruits as time went on).
It was good to catch up with many of you at the pub afterwards and thank you in person, but thanks also to those who couldn't make it / didn't know where Winyards Gap is!!!
I know some of you ran with various ailments/hangovers, I hope nothing gets any worse, and good luck to those of you doing 10K, Triathlons, 20 mile training runs, etc. I'll be thinking of you while I'm slumped on the sofa vegetating.
The results usually take a little while before appearing on the website as they have to double check everything, but its safe to say we didn't win anything...except BEst Club in the South West!!!
Cheers all

Like Matt said it will be a while till the results are out.

Phil eating Chips, well deserved mate.
A well earned Beer, well done ladies

For those that did not enter please try next year, they all enjoyed it and the Pub after was full of Green and Whites talking about how well they ran but not necessarily in the right direction all of the time.
"Whatever happens do not push", nice smile Pete

Cross Country

Adam organised the local School Kids Cross Country on Thursday and a couple of helpers turn up to help out with the Car Parking. Not sure who the adults are but the dog was a great Car Park attendant. Shame the weather didn't help.

Well Done Shep
