The Day of the Mud

Bovington Here We Come

Katie Brooks AKA Social Rep, saw a link for a Race and decided it would be a good laugh for the Club to enter so she made up a lie and posted on the Club facebook page about a flat dry 5k race close to home in the Summer. So loads signed up with teams of three or a few single entries for the Club and then discovered that it was in fact in the deepest Amazon forest in the mud swamp and wet in the middle of winter.

So cold the snow had to be cleared away

There was a bit of finger pointing at her.

Who's idea was this?
Once there the Teams got together to put their warm clothing on and watched the Mooning.

The Moon Dance

The Clothing was strange but seemed to keep the Mud off and helped with the dancing.

The Strange Dancing
Others thought Superpowers would help so went to all lengths to dress like them.

Superwoman
Some thought they would soon clean up the Competition

The Race started and off they went with either 5, 10 or 15k distances. It was a 5k loop with a flat hill just before the end.

Flat Hill
There was also a great Ocean in the way that needed to be crossed using whatever they could find.
There was a Big Croc between her legs

The Water was deep

But some had super powers and could run on top of the water.

The Army were called in to clear the Swamp

Some traps were out to try and keep the runners in the swamp

The Cleans were soon washed up.

Soon some of the YTRRC runners had made their way around the Amazon and the Swamp to meet Mount Kilimanjaro waiting for them but strange birds were flying in the air to try and knock them off.

Some say you can see Somerset from the Top
Soon more and more YTRRC made their escape to climb the Mountain

So Happy to make the Top

Made it
The sprint for the hill was hard but YTRRC got there first

The 15k runners soon made their way to the Hill but nearly fell back down.

The ice at the top was bad
At the finish the smiles soon came through

As with all YTRRC gathering the food was soon out with Tables made from the Swamp and round cakey things soon appeared.

PASTIES

As other runners walked pass the people from Somerset the envy was clear to see as we were forced to eat cake and drink hot tea.

The Somerset people

All in all a Great turn out by the Club and a brills time was had by all. Hopefully it will be on again next year. Sorry if I have missed anyone out but tried to get you all in.Well done to all.
