YTRRC Hit Dorney Lake
Good effort girls on your 20k race a Dorney Lake, Lynne and Joe did the race yesterday and some god pictures on Facebook.
Notices
Well done to Brian Mount-Joy who did the Clermont Waterfront Parkrun in Orlando, you can see his result here.
Don't forget the Tenpin Bowling on Fri 30th Jan and if you are going please pay your £4 to Katie Brooks.
This in from Lesley:
For all of you running Club Championship races I have updated the calendar of these. A few significant changes are: (1) Combe St Nicolas 10k on 8th March has been taken off as we would like lots of YTRRC to run our own race - the Great Western 10k; (2) Ash Town Tree Trail has moved from May to 26th April (for those of you not running VLM); (3) Ninesprings 9k is now on 31st May (not 7th June, due to a clash with Crewkerne 10k), again this is one of our races and your support in running it would be greatly appreciated; (4) Castle Cary 10k, previously in October is now renamed as Cary Canter 10k and is taking place on 21st June (early bird price until end Jan!). The Dirty Stampede
Saturday saw some Club members head down to Bovington for the Dirty Stampede. If you look at the photographs you will see all the smiling faces and what a great day out the Club had. There is a separate Blog for it and also a video clip. The results can be found here.
The weather was cold to start with and a bit of ice on the puddles but the mud was good and the hills short and steep. Helen, Lesley and Richard came in 2nd for the 15k so good effort.
Well done to all those that travelled down and I think more will go next year.
Kat Hurford posted:
"Thank you Katie Brooks for suggesting the Dirty Devil Stampede, which resulted in a great YTRRC turnout, done in style as only our club can. We were all a bit nervous of the unknown, but it was fabulous. Great, great fun. Xx "
This from Helen Nesbitt
"What a day! Thanks Katie I prob wouldn't have entered this if it wasn't for you...and apologies for blaming you on Thursday!..it was just the nervous unknown but I have to say I really enjoyed the crazy experience!
Pub Run
Thursdays pub run was from the Ilchester Arms organised by Linda. It was a cold windy night and two groups set off on similar routes only to find the Somerset Floods were back in full swing. Both groups still managed 7 and the other 11 but the food made up for it. A good night and Phil soon finished his pudding off. We need more volunteers for the Pub runs so please help.
