Tin Tin with a Giant

Dave Richardson
It was with great sadness that this week we learnt of the passing of Dave Richardson, Dave loved his running and been in the Club for some years. Our thoughts are with his family.

Yeovil Town 30th anniversary relay

Angle Felix posted this "David Richardson in the indoor warm up area in Birmingham. Ready to compete at his beloved British Masters Track and Field Champs 2013. He will be missed so much by so many of us. Old, young, track and road runners alike. Dave's family are very much in all our thoughts xxx"

USA

While hard at work in the USA Simon he managed to find time for a Half Marathon.

Simon sent me this message:

Things are going well here in California, did the half marathon in Mammoth in the Sierra Nevada mountains last weekend. All downhill from 9500ft to 8000ft and I managed 12th place. The only place I've seen foil blankets being worn at the start of the race and not the end! Good supply of chocolate milk, watermelon, ice creams and cream cheese on bagels at the finish line but not a cup of tea or sponge/coffee and walnut cake in sight - still got a thing or two to learn these Americans...

Giants Head

Saturday saw the Giant's Head Marathon and Sydling Hill Race and both had YTRRC runners in them.
Kaz & Tom Handley and Sharon Masters

Giants Head was voted best UK Marathon last year and you can see why, great race, great marshalls and the Aid Stations are something else. You even get red knees if you want to, you just have to take a tumble whilst getting lost and making sure your GPS say's over 27
miles and try to get close to 28. With great medals and t-shirt with an additional Muff with a funny shape on it, it is a race not to be missed.

Whilst some of us finished the race and got some serious food inside us some runners just had to over indulge.

I wouldn't have minded but Katie didn't even run, still it was great to see a friendly face at the finish and she did buy the Ice Cream.  Results are not out yet.

North Devon Coastal

Chris Woodman went to North Devon to run the North Devon Coastal Marathon he posted:

Well that's marathon number 13 done at the North Devon coastal marathon, have to say it's a course everyone must do at least once, it's really stunning views and give thanks to Paula from north Devon running club for the company the whole way round. One marathon I ran with a smile on my face the entire time, same again next year. 6hr2 that includes the icecream and beer stops.

Torbay half marathon

Well done to Adam Batson and Kevin Stenner on the Torbay Half today, looks a bit cloudy so I guess the weather was good for running.

Tin Tin 10k

There were loads of Green and Whites at the Tin Tin 10k as it was a Champs Race and just down the road.

Well done to Richard Bateson as first male and Sara Finney as first female for YTRRC. There were 132 runners and the full results can be seen here. Some new members also ran so welcome to the Club and good effort if this was your first race. The updated Champs tables are now up as well. http://www.yeoviltownrrc.com/clubchamps2015.html
