Yeovil Marathon
First of all well done to Bryn Phillips, the Race Director, for the First Yeovil Marathon. Also the Club for the support in setting up, the running of the event and also at the end.
There were loads of YTRRC running the Race and also a load for their first time. Trying to get them all before for a photograph was impossible with so many still putting make-up on.
The Race itself started at 9:00am with a safety brief and then started by Mark Ormrod and we were off. Some started in groups to help each other on the 2 lap route.
The Start |
The route took you through the surrounding villages around RNAS Yeovilton to Mudford and then back around the other side to start the second loop. We had the Cadets from Somerset Army Cadet Force manning all the water stations and out thanks to them for their support.
Just make out the Water Station as Tim the winner went pass |
As we passed Steve he took some phots, I can't post them all as to many but a select few.
As we finish we were given our medals by Katie Brooks and the finish line team.
Once again there were loads of photographs at the end so I have chosen just a few, mainly those that have just completed their first one and the emotions at the end were well deserved, it was hot out there today as well.
It was a great day and the Club has a lot to be proud of, the runners at the back got the biggest cheers and the loudest went to Patricia Seabrook with a winning time of 6:20. Speaking to some of the runners from around the country all said it was a great day they had. Well done Club. The Full Results can be seen here
Just some of the posts:

From other Club Runners
Well done so friendly and a big thanks to the Marshalls and cadets and organisers will definitely be back and recommend, also the best goody bag and technical top, and medal I've had for a while.
I would like to say a massive thank you to everybody that was a part in the organising and marshalling of the event, you did a fantastic job and I don't think it could of gone any better you kept me going and helped me achieve my London GFA time. Although next time feel free to take that final long hill out, thanks again.
Langport LDWA Marathons
The LDWA put on several Marathons around our area and very cheap entry and excellent Aid Stations also with long cut offs. Langport does two on a Saturday and Sunday normally in June every year. Where as I did Saturday with Paul Meadows and Paul Allen, Paul Allen did today's as well. These are excellent training runs with lovely views. Give one a go with a gang of you, you will love it.
Martock 10k
Today saw the Martock 10k with a few YTRRC runners taking part, the full results can be seen here.
Lewis Bacon was the first YTRRC to cross the line with Lauren Price the first Female for the Club. Well done to all runners.
