Back to the Heat

Bahamas Marathon

Last Sunday saw Peter Jakeman, Paul Allen and I pop over to the Bahamas for their Marathon. It was a hard one to do with the heat and thinking of the Club running back in UK with the frost and de-icing their Cars but we struggled through and managed to all get Age Cat Awards with Paul and Pete getting first and me third. Paul finished 5th overall as well.

The Full Results can be seen here.

Yeovil Marathon

This in from Bryn the Race Director:

I have managed to do a deal with Nuffield Health Gym in Yeovil as part of their sponsorship to the Yeovil Marathon. They have given me 300 free 3 day passes for members of the club. If you are already a member of Nuffield Health Gym then they can be transferred to a friend. I will have them with me when i go to track and Tuesday training. A number have already been given to a few that i saw this week at Goldenstones.

Also he sent some goodies from the Club to  401 Challenger Ben Smith and on their Facebook page Ben posted:

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Bryn and the team at Yeovil Running Club for the give bag! What a lovely thought! Sorry I can't make the 12th but I'll be in Scotland.

There have also been some great comments added to the post that can be seen here.

Dirty Devil Stampede

Dirty Devil Stampede went was well attended by the Club again last Sunday and as normal the Club took the event very seriously.

Notices

This in from Rob Jones:

The Hope 24 is a 24 hour endurance event for soloist or teams as a relay which is set on a 5 mile trail course on the outskirts of Plympton, nr. Plymouth and is held from midday of May 14th. I think it's fair to say it took a lot of our club out of their comfort zone but certainly not out of their abilities and all those attending really enjoyed themselves.
If you're interested in joining or forming a team please checkout the attached link or message me.

With the Yeovil Half, NDVM and London getting closer the long runs on Sunday have a few groups setting off at 8:30 am with a range of paces that hopefully with cater for all runners. Mainly arranged on Facebook so if you would like to come along but not on FB ask at the Club nights, Tues, Thur or Fri Track session.

Feb 14th will hopefully see the Sunday Club Run from Sherborne Train Station with food in the cafe for those that want it. More details nearer the time from Paul and Jane Allen.
