Yeovil Town RRC hit Longleat

Longleat 10k

The Club took Longleat by storm today for the 10k. A really good turn out 30 runners and well done to Fez as first YTRRC runner over the line and also 2nd his Age Cat. Jo Henley was first YTRRC lady over the line, so well done you two.

There were a few pb's today as well so good effort all round. Also Phillipa Howarth ran in a YTRRC Top for the first time. The Full Results can be seen here.

First Race in  YTRRC colours
From Louise:

At Longleat 10k today Fez was beaten into 2nd place in MV50 by 3 minutes (61 in category). Much to my surprise I was also 2nd in FV50 beaten by 1 minute. (43 in category) Q - Who should be doing the ironing and cooking the roast? Lol!!

Enigma Quadzilla (4 Marathon in 4 Days).

Paul Allen and I went back up to Caldecotte Lake for a Quad, Thursday through to today, I have never done a Quad so all new to me but I have done three. It was hard work getting up each day knowing you had 26.2 miles to run but by the fourth day you somehow get stronger and was quicker that the previous two days. Apart from four medals we also go a Hoodie.

Paul came first in the Quad over the four days so well done to him. Just a double to go in a couple of weeks for Paul, Peter, Lynne and myself.

Blackmore Vale Half

This in from Lesley:

Well done all who too part in races today - loads of us! Blackmore Vale half results are out -http://bvlhm.yolasite.com/resources/BVHMResults.pdf. Ben Carter and Sarah Finney Trim 1st male and 1st female for YTRRC over the line. Also well done to Anna Lloyd for 2nd in her age category.

Sunday's Long Run

Mark took a small group for a swim today.

Portland Coastal Marathon

Good effort from Chris Woodman (Full) and Mark Gosney (Half)

From Chris:

Portland coastal marathon completed, have to say the wind and the underfoot conditions made it really tough today, still enjoyed it though and thanks to big rich from the 100 club keeping me company the last 8 miles, and thanks to mark and the bustinskin team for fabulous aid stations. will be back next year, just hope it's slightly better conditions lol

From Mark:

Portland coastal Half completed! As far as half's go this is a tough one,but today with the high winds it was positively brutal! On the plus side I had my best finish of any race iv done so far, crossing the line in 16th place with a time of 1:56 and only 1min slower than last years race, and if that wind wasn't so bad the time could have been so much quicker! Roll on next years race

Ashford 10k

Well done to Lenny Carroll on the Ashford 10k his first race of the year.
