Lytchett 10
There was a great turn out for this 10 miler down in Lytchett, even I went down to do even though it was 16.2 miles short (bloody hats). Well done to Fez who got a pb (1:07) and also first Green and White over the line, the first female was Helen so great running from them.
The Chairman needs to up his game with the Vet +65 runner going through in 1:10. It was a British Championship Race so a fast field. This year a medal and a Rose (see pic below) were given at the end. A very well marshalled race with free cakes at the end :) Thanks to Kevin Day for taking the pictures and all the organisers.
There were a few pbs out there today as well so done all.
The full results can be seen here.
The Hurtle 2016 and Humdinger
There were a few Green and Whites in Taunton for the Half and 5mile, in the 5m there was a world class field in this and Lindsay was the first YTRRC runners over the line with Steven Warren first male. The full results can be seen here.
Mel Dodge:
Just a note to results . Katie Denise & I did not see that the start time of Hurtle had been changed !!! So we started late !! Our actual times differ by 3 ish mins. & for me my place would probably have been at least 2 up. Grrr. Never mind.. It's a start . & a lesson learnt !! Check emails the night before !!
In the half we had Nick Brooke over the line first for the Club and Nicola Guiver was first female. The Full results can be seen here.

Dark Nights
Haldon Forest Night Run, choice of 10k or 5k. Race starts at 7pm, so we plan to leave Yeovil at 3:45. Nearly forget Darren Atyeo and Nathan Gardiner almost goes North instead of South. Katie Brooks gets us there, but it's not even 5:30. Coffee shop is open so we relax (see pic one). Newcomer Zoe is intrigued by the nonsense and lack of organisation, but by 7:15 we're all on the start line. Up and down, up and down, etc.etc.
Katie takes the 5k option and gets a course pb! 😊
Meanwhile the 10k mob are slogging it out. A fine mist, wet tracks and a small amount of mud is all the fun.
Nathan swings I as first YTRRC, with a sore throated Matt Driver just outside 50 mins. Darren is hot on his heels but unable to mount a challenge and only decides to fall over when he's finished the race.
Zoe completes her first night run and has enjoyed it so much she is disappointed to find she's busy for the half marathon in a fortnight!
Richard Dodge completes the YTRRC set with a fine run after the morning's parkrun efforts.
We all repair to the local eating house for lashings of nutritious and delicious salad.
Maidstone Half
Lenny Carroll completed the Maidstone Half today and posted:
Maidstone half marathon completed in 2 hours 5 minutes and 34 seconds. Not a PB but first half since November. So good training for Yeovil half in march.
