Reading, Paris Taunton

Paris Marathon

YTRRC has had runners at races all over the world lately and today saw Sean, Fiona, Anita and Steph travel to Paris for the Marathon.

Steph was the first YTRRC runner over the line with Sean the first male. It seems it got a bit hot out there but a free suntan with a shinny medal and finishers T-Shirt. For the full results click here.

Taunton Half and Full Marathons

We had a few runners who traveled all he way to Taunton for the annual Half and Full marathon. In the Half we had Kenneth Berry the first male and PB Jo Henley and our first lady so well done both of you and all the others. The Full half results can be seen here.

In the Full we had Fez and Louise completing their first marathons and both ran well, must be Louise's coach. Fez managed to beat me by two seconds but I have asked for a stewards inquiry but 3 hr 33 m for his first marathon is on course for a GFA for London at the Yeovil Marathon hopefully.

Louise also ran well and managed 4 hr 39 m and was first lady over the line for the Club.

She posted:

First Marathon completed in Taunton today. Happy with times of 4.39 and 3.33. Thanks to everyone we ran with on club runs, pub runs, track and long Sunday runs which made it so much easier and more enjoyable. Special thanks from me to Anita for doing the 20 mile run with me and Peter Jakeman for giving me a training programme which was just right for me 😊

Paul Allen was first with 3 hr 07 m and also a mention for Jon Crane for a PB and 3 hr 35 m

Well done to all runners today on both races. Thanks to Jane Allen for the photographs as well.

Reading Half Marathon

Brilliant run at the Vitality Reading Half Marathon today. It was like running at the London Marathon with all those runners and supporters. Amazing run and amazing finish at the stadium. It was meant to be flat! Flat with 3 angles!! Would recommend this to everyone. PB official 1 hour 54 mins and 10 secs. Knocked off nearly a minute.

Bournemouth Bay Half and 10k

Kevin Stenner completed the Bay Half and posted:

Very windy hard race down at the Bournemouth Bay Half Marathon, which took a lot of effort to get my old carcase round that course. Not happy with 1 36 58.

Meanwhile Catherine and Luke did the 10k and Catherine posted:

48:45 for Luke Hicks and 1:01:18 for me which I was really pleased with considering that until yesterday I was struggling even to walk! Might not have the full English breakfast before hand next time though. Almost saw it a second time!

Exe to Axe

Well done to all the YTRRC runners at the Axe to Exe it looks hard.
