Palma, Amsterdam, Burton Bradstock

Palma Full and Half
For the third year running we went to Palma for their running festival, this year had Paul Allen, Pete Jakeman, Fez Parker and I doing the Marathon and  Louise and Oily the Half.

Sunday was the hottest day for this run in years and although the Half and Full that do the same first loop was Ok to the turnaround point the heat was turned up on the way back and the second lap. Oily managed a PB in the half and had a great run, Louise was our first Lady and both enjoyed the free sunrtan.

Pete moved at the last minute

Jane Allen , Rob & Daphne Barfoot were our support team and did a great job. Paul Allen managed a 3:08 in that heat so great running. After the Race we hit the Marina Bar and still a bit if heat stroke two beers each kept turning up.

The evening meal was a Hindu restaurant but Jane was not to happy with the bread so threw it at me with the waiter looking a bit shocked as he was just trying to fill my Red up.

All in all a great weekend and with a 10k as well there is something for all and great weather as well. Give it a go next year. The full results can be seen here.

Amsterdam Marathon

Sunday saw the Amsterdam Marathon with three runners form the Club, Paul Card was first in with Lauren taking first lady. SOme great PB's as well and great times:

564 Paul Card 4389 3:00:41
942 Simon Rayner 1565 3:12:20

467 Lauren Price 4263 3:18:32

Sadly Helen was injured and did not run but supported. The Full Results can be seen here.

Burton Bradstock Festival

A few of us went to Burton Bradstock for the 5k, 10K, half and full marathons. Despite pouring with rain before leaving the sun shone! The half and full route had some great views and pretty villages to run through. Not sure I'd call it 'flattish'. Well done all. — with Chris WoodmanLuke HicksMike KendrickLynne ThumpstonKay Wilson White,Lesley Nesbitt and Catherine Thompson Hansford. The full results can be seen here.

Cary Canter 10k

Marks Pub Run

KINGSBURY EPISCOPI PUB RUN
This time we went Stockditch road and southay to East Lambrook. Then straight along the road to New Cross and West Lambrook. On the left were tall poplar trees, probably planted to block the wind. There were a lot of large tractors out tonight, some not hanging around. We took West lane to Burrow and onto Stembridge. We then cut across to go back the way we came in. One of the road direction signs was wearing a batman hat, must be the time of year. The run tonight was led by Phil.
Sometimes running in the cold and dark makes me feel like this:
