Lest We Forget

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Remembrance Sunday

Today the Sunday Long Runs were slighty shorter so we could get back for the Remembrance Parade. Katie was marching with the parade so she could lay a Wreath on behalf of the Club for the first time. Thanks Katie

Park Runs

From Linsey:
Hi Bungy not the greatest weather to start seatons first Park run but we did it. 188 Park runners turned up, some living locally, some from Yeovil and even some all the way from Yorkshire. Members from our club was me, Rich Dodge, Katie Brooks and Dave and Deb Stainfield. It was a lovely flat course up and down the esplanade and even my girls managed to run it. Well worth the trip

From Lesley:

First parkrun for over 4 months completed this morning and it's not got any easier. Fiona and Sean made the effort on a wet, soggy Saturday morning just to earn their slam hats- well done both ( Paul it has to be done). Nice to see Kat there and other friends/running colleagues too. Although several missing due to the inaugural Seaton parkrun.

Street 5k:

As much as I hate getting out the door, drive to Street and run 5 laps around Street I decided this week that I must do some speed work so off I went. The weather conditions were ideal. The first lap was quick(ish!) for me, the 2nd ok, then 3rd not so good, the 4th horrible and the 5th slow(ish) but the thought of nearly finishing kept me going. So, all in all, it's actually not that bad. Of course the icing on the cake (or the wine in the bottle) for being 1st (and only!) FV65 makes it worthwhile and Tony is always happy when I bring home a bottle of wine! Being 75th out of 90 doesn't sound very good but there are loads of very speedy runners out there who lap me on my 2nd lap.

Well done to the other YTRRC runners who were there, namely, Leyton Green (19:47); Dave Stansfield (20:47); Pete Jakeman (22:02); Trevor Strelley (24:31); Lindsay Saunders (25:01, unlucky but an incentive to get under 24:00 next month!); me (25:24) and Graeme Brown (27:34).

Marks Pub Run

PUB RUN FROM CURRY RIVEL

It was mild and clear tonight and the moon shon like a light bulb lighting our way. From the pub, we ran down the lane and went left, right, and right out onto Holden's way, Curry Mead lane, and Crabtree lane. It was too dark to see any of the crabs or their trees. This took us to the B3168. The pace was unusually fast at this point. We went down the main road and turned right heading to Whitecross then Drayton. There were dog walkers out along the way. We slowed a bit. We headed back towards Curry Rivel went right and crossed over the main road. A final loop went wrong adding on a bit extra, but it was good. We corrected, and came back going past the church and back up the main road. Another good pub run (7 miles) and I cooked my own sea food in the pub afterwards. Thanks Simon.
