Parrett Trail -
Yesterday I became the BOG Man , rather than the Blog Man. With Martin and Matt I recced leg 5, see pictures below, and these were the shallow bits, some was thigh deep, and Matt rolling up his shorts, now there is a sight!!
Getting deeper!
We have to cross, the path is the other side!!
The deepest is yet to come!!
It will be better next week, honest!!
Good luck to everyone doing the trail next week. I am meeting Jill at the end of Leg 5, we we then be taking a car over to the start. Anyone else on Leg 5 wants to join us drop me an email.

From Deb
Important - England Athletics have changed how we apply for the Club London Marathon Places for 2013!!
If you want to be included in the Club Draw for places, you will need to have let Deb Stanfield debstanfield007@aol.com know by Sunday 4th November! There does not appear to be a way to transfer entries if you become injured.
The Draw will now take place on Wednesday 7th November at the Committee Meeting instead.
The lucky recipients will have to complete their entry online by 5pm Friday 16th November (successful members will be given the information after the draw and it will be their responsibility to complete the entry)
Paul Rose is back on the marathon trail, I have had this in from him, great result Paul, and a super time
Hi Terry, I took part in the Clarendon Marathon today, a lovely event very friendly & well organised, also a relay & half marathon as well so it caters for all. I'm fairly sure I finished 3rd in just under 3:10 but ran without a watch and was a little confused how many relay teams finished ahead of me. Very pleased as longest run since begining of May has been 16 miles so today was a bit of a shock to the system,
Fred and Sue have also been doing a Marathon and came away with a couple of great results, I had this in from Fred, keep warm in that motorhome mate!
Just to let you know for the blog that me & Sue have just taken part in the Kielder Water Marathon in Northumberland.
Sue ran 4-41 & I did 4-04 not too bad on a 3 weeks training plan.
Fantastic run, probably one of the most scenic marathon that we have run (clear skies & wall to wall sunshine helped) the organisation was brilliant & everyone ever so friendly. Look forward to a frosty night in the motorhome then off to the Lake District for a week of walking.
Catch you soon

Me and Jon Rowe did Boscombe 5k last night. Jon was 15th in 18.31,a great run. I was 42nd in a new pb of 20.07. There were 162 runners and it was a bit dark and sandy!! I've now ran 4 pbs in 27 days! Did pb in Clevedon 5k relays (20.41), Pb in Melksham 10 miler (73.57), pb in Boscombe 10k (42.27) and pb last night in Boscombe 5k (20.07)! I should say thanks to Jon for training me and thanks to Adrian for encouraging me too.
Burnham-on-Sea Half
Two reports, one from Richard Boulter and another from Lesley Nesbit
From Richard
On a glorious day for running, Mark Wills repeated his win of last year to finish clear of the field in 1:19:43. Richard Boulter was happy to have scraped inside the hour and a half mark to finish 19th in 1:29:56.Richard was following in Rod Appleby's wake until the drinks at 10 miles when Rod stopped for a wash and brush up to look good for the finish. Rod finishing 28th in 1:31:41. Rose Harvey was not far behind though unfortunately do not have her position or time.
From Lesley
Another good race day. Mark Wills first male again, I did a pb 3 mins faster than my previous and was first female Vet 55, so well chuffed with that.
