Matt's Triumph and the Ladies are Champions

Hi everyone, well what a weekend.

The Parrett Trail has come and gone and first of all I must say a massive thank you from everyone involved to Matt the Magician and Juggler!!!. He organised 7 teams of 6, got everyone there with a few last minute changes, came close to hitting the bottle on Friday, had help from several and then ran a leg. A great job which helped to make it a special day! Thanks also to all those who changed legs and ran without a recce, turned up at the last minute, stayed and cheered everybody in at each leg and organised cars etc to and from starts and finishes. It just proved what a great and special club we belong to.

I was told by a Marshall that people don't volunteer for Leg 5, they get given leg 5, well I am changing that, Matt, Leg 5 next year please!!

And now to the LADIES!! Champions of the Parrett, now we know the ladies are champions of the Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit, especially when they get together, but now they are Parrett Champions, what a performance, well done girls!

Mark Wills Flying through Leg 6 Just after Ham Hill

Angel Felix, Jill speeding through as part of the Fast Ladies

And that's me a 'bit later' after THAT hill.. Thanks Matt!

It Don't get much better, 3 of the winning 'Fast Ladies'

Plus Jill, who made up for her speed in the race  by being late!
The Trophy
Leg 1 about to start, so clean. With Matt feeling 'Glad all over' that its about to start!

Leg 1 over, see the pain!

From Matt

So...Parrett Trail done and dusted for another Year. YTRRC are Ladies champions and we also did very well with all our other teams. Many thanks to all who took part, apologies for the mix up on leg 3, special thanks to those flexible runners who fill in where they can.

Please post all your hilarious stories here (about how you got lost, muddy, injured, etc.) so other YTRRC members get jealous and we'll have ten teams next year!

As for our very refined Fast Ladies, having won the trophy Kat posted the following dignified response to victory!! I love it, well done again girls!

Cheers am I the first on? 'Scream out loud, arghhhhh', we only bloody won the fast ladies team, I'm so ecstatic, 2nd prize this year!! Well done team, I knew we could do it. Matt has your wine if you were not at the pub. I was at pub and now feeling a little puggled.

I have had the following from Lesley, ref Castle Cary 10k

Did the Castle 10k (bonus - it was actually only 5.9 miles) this morning, hilly but really nice route with lovely views, made even better by a beautiful morning. Very good organisation by Total Buzz and excellent friendly marshalling. Seven YTRRC runners today and would definitely recommend it as a future race for all green and whites.

IF they awarded team prizes the YTRRC Men would have won it! Well done boys.
