Christmas is coming - celebration starts here!

Some people have been preparing, Paul has to get a new shirt

Running reaches the parts other things cannot reach!!

Sally got some new shoes for the party
then got stuck in the floods!!!

Today was busy yet again despite the rain, and more rain and puddles and more rain and floods and more rain and a bit of pain as the Green and Whites went out and performed brilliantly from Brent Knoll in the final race of the Somerset Series, to a wet Salisbury for the Cross Country to Boscombe near Bournemouth for the Boscombe 10km

The Brent Knoll and Somerset Series

This from Rose Harvey, amazing Rose, Mark and Lesley, absolutely brilliant...

Well done Yeovil Town Road Runners at this years Somerset Series - Mark Wills First Male 0verall, Me first female overall, Lesley Nesbitt first female Vet 55 and Rod Appleby third male vet 40 :-)

Well done Yeovil Town Road Runners at a very muddy and wet Brent Knoll, the final race!

Mark Wills first overall, Rose Harvey first Vet 35 and Lesley Nesbitt first Vet 55 :-)

And this from Lesley, what a season you have had Lesley, and you Rose, inspirational

What a fun way to spend a Sunday morning. Final race of Somerset Series at Brent Knoll - no rain, but verrrrrrrrrry wet and muddy underfoot. Everyone slipping and sliding all over the place, including me!

As Rose has already commented good results for Yeovil in both the Brent Knoll race and Somerset Series. Come on all you Yeovil runners, set yourself the challenge to complete at least 8 races (out of 17) in the Somerset Series next year - there will be plenty of races for everyone to enjoy.

Everyone will get a pair of socks at the very least and because they have a 2nd sponsor for next year there is a good chance you will a prize as well. The 1st race of the Somerset Series is the Chard Flyer on New Year's Day, a good way to recover from the New Year celebrations!!

Cross Country from Matt

Cross Country at Hudson's Fields, Salisbury...Thanks for attending and well done to Jill, Aimee and Liz (ladies) - Tim, Jon, Matt, Nick, Gareth, Pete, Ed (men), plus our spectators, hope that's everyone (really worried now I've missed someone obvious). Men were probably second team, but don't know yet.

Good conditions, just the soles getting muddy really. Drinks and/or Christmas lunch after. Good day all round.

PS - I'm Jill and Pete's new son, having sat in the back of the car and following them everywhere. I've been a good boy, so I'll wait to see what they've got me for Christmas!!! :-)

Jill suggested some Aftershave, something to do with Movember I believe!!

OTHER XC THIS SEASON

Cross country championships for the coming season.

Somerset champs to be held at Bath uni 9th Dec
Dorset champs Kings Park Bournmouth Jan 12th
South West champs Bicton Park Devon Jan 6th

Any interested runners please let Tim Hawkins know by Fri 30th November and he will sort out the team entries over the weekend.

I went and did the ever popular and always full Boscombe 10km, superbly organised by Bournemouth Joggers. There were other Green and Whites there, but sorry, I did not see them. I will update the blog when I have the results. I was delighted with a 2nd best ever time in good conditions.

Next Sunday is the Full Monty, which is full and the following Sunday is the Christchurch 10km, full since June, but we have 15 Green and Whites invading Dorset to take on this very flat and fast ever popular event.

My place is only 500 yards from the start of the Christchurch race, we will be having some mulled wine, sausage rolls and mince pies after the race, just to chill and relax before you start the drive back with the trophies. All 15 plus supporters are more than welcome. E mail me and I will give you the address so you can leave some of the cars in our front drive.
