Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas, I know for all of us the festive period has been tempered by the mindless vandalism at the Football Club when our toilet unit was burnt to the ground and the club trailer, containing all of the equipment used to support our races and events, seriously damaged.
The committee meeting in on Wednesday 2nd at 6:30pm at the Forum Cafe, Abbey Manor Park, everybody is welcome and the way we go forward will be discussed.
I can assure you all of something, while this, without doubt, will have financial implications for the club, the scum bags who did this will NOT succeed in knocking this club backwards, we will come together even stronger than before. We will discuss, take input from all, agree the way ahead, raise the necessary funds and go forward as one. We will run all our races as well as before, we will always win through against these idiots.
A massive thank you for all the messages of support from other clubs and individuals, well appreciated and we may well take you up on some of the offers of help!
IF YOU CAN, BE AT THE COMMITTEE MEETING, IF YOU CANNOT BE THERE, THERE WILL BE FULL DETAILS ON THE BLOG OF ACTIONS THE CLUB HAVE AGREED TO TAKE US FORWARD. PLEASE COME BACK AND CHECK THE BLOG LATER IN THE WEEK TO SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO OR SEE THE WEB SITE OR COME TO CLUB NIGHTS, PUB RUNS OR TRACK NIGHTS. Thanks All!

Was the sole Yeovil representative at the Warminster Plain Crazy race today in what can best be described as ‘windy’ conditions. Using the same course as last year though in reverse, I finished in 20th place which was 4 minutes slower for the 11.2 miles. I’m trying to convince myself this was due to the conditions rather than any Christmas over indulgence which I could feel bouncing up & down for the first few miles! It’s a challenging race due the sheer bleakness of the scenery across normally closed Salisbury Plain tank tracks & through the abandoned village of Imber but can now sit & watch some Christmas dvd’s without feeling too guilty.
Happy New Year to everyone
