A little bit on Sunday

Hi All

As some of you build up your training, remember....

The amount of runs going on now is fantastic, Debbie with the long run on Sunday, building towards half marathons and marathons over the coming months, Paul with even longer runs supporting those going for a time in the spring marathons, extra runs on Saturday morning with Sally (9:15ish). There is a slower marathon group with Sally at the club runs on Tuesday. Keep me informed and details will go on the blog, its all happening!!! The positive feed back from the track and the Sunday runs, as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays is fantastic.

40 People at the Friday track sessions, popular pub runs, fast and slow tempo groups, loads entered in half marathons and marathons, many for the first time and Paul heading for the 150 Marathon mark this year, Joanna through 25 miles in a week for the first time, Flossy running further than she has ever run before, Becky just loving Sunday mornings with many others... What a club, SIMPLY THE BEST, best on the social side, becoming more competitive on the race scene, being the club to fear at local races and XC and eating the very best cakes anywhere in the South West, love it! ..

Paul Rose heading for the Yorkshire Marathon, Sally for North Dorset, me in Stratford, a load of us off to London in April, and it looks like we are trying to take over the North Dorset Villages Marathon. 2013 is going to be a year to remember.

E mail me the races you are doing, 5k to marathon to Ultra, it will go on here and we will try and get you some company. tbyrne@crownpetfoods.co.uk

Dorset XC Championships yesterday, I was there, 7th race of the day, pouring down with very cold rain, mud, deep, slippy and treacherous, giving it everything and struggling. Spikes were a must, my off-roaders were like ice skates around the four laps, I was lapped at the end of two laps, I was soaked through and chilled to the bone. I'll be back next year, in spikes giving it another go. And just a mention for the marshalls, amazing people, standing through all the races, encouraging and supportive. If I was cold they must have been chilled to the core.

Remember when you race to thank the marshalls as you go by, without these special people no race, never take them for granted!

From Adam today

Hello
Just back from the Axmouth 10 mile race - very hilly, very muddy but good fun.
The only YTRRC runner I saw was Paul Rose who was 5th in 1.05.46 [the winner was 1 hour exactly]
I was last in around two hours!!

Nice one Paul and Adam

Next race is East Coker on Weds 30th Jan but East Coker do the course laying etc.
