Hi All
A quick word from Martin on Hash Activity coming up, I know there are a lot of you out there who love a bit of Hashing...
Happy New Year from the Ham Hill Hash!
If your New Year Resolution is to do more running but to try something a bit different, then please note that the first Ham Hill Hash House Harriers hash of 2013 takes place Sunday 27th January, 11am at Red House pub on the A37 Dorchester Road, Yeovil.
I appreciate that this is the day after the Blackdown Beast – so I’ll make the course suitable for recovering legs, or newer runners (and those wanting to start running again after a break – like me!)
If you’ve not hashed before – it’s good fun! We run to a trail laid in flour, with false trails and cunning, sneaky bits to keep you on your toes – the basic route is usually about 5 miles, but the extras mean you can do as much or as little as you want, and the nature of finding the trail means that the group tends to stay together (and suits runners of all speeds and abilities – we send the faster ones off to find the trail, especially if it’s uphill!). Add to that we’ll be going off the beaten track, so you’ll likely to be in places the main Club won’t go to – and there’s usually a jelly baby stop and a beer stop along the way!
We hash once a month, working around races and Club commitments - it's ideal way of getting an extra run in if you're not quite up to the Long Run group distances.
[Beer stop and Jelly baby stop locations being considered as we speak…!]
If you fancy coming along, can you please let me know so I can gauge numbers and forewarn the pub – Martin “Mixy” Chaffey – 07929 054576 / martinchaffey@hotmail.co.uk Red House have said that it tends to be Sunday Roast, Veggie Lasagne or choice of soup/sandwiches for those wanting to eat and if we have enough, they have a function room just for us!
A write up and Photos of the last time we hashed from Red House can be seen Just here if that helps – am looking for a different course this time!
I have also updated Mixy's Bit, the unofficial website of the Ham Hill Hash which can be found off the Club website or here at Webjam
Hope to see you soon!
Martin
