It's a Mad Cow at Sutton Bingham

Sutton Bingham

Today some of the Club went down to Sutton Bingham after the poor performance of the Dragon Boat Racing to practice. Organised by the Club Soc Sec Katie brooks they met in the afternoon so they didn't get wet in the morning pour down. They then had a safety brief and you can see why they needed it.

After they got into their little ships they were told that it is best done in the water, so Phil having served in the Navy since the death of Nelson showed them what to do and so in the water they went.

A great day out with a picnic to follow well done to all  and thanks to Katie for organising this.

Lulworth Castle 10k

The Club had a good turn out of the Lulworth 10k, this was the first time for this event. A lovely part of Dorset.

Mad Mad Cow

Saturday and Sunday saw the running of another WSR event this time near Poole with a Marathon on Saturday and a 10k in the evening followed by a marathon on the Sunday with a Half as well.

Saturday saw a couple of us run the marathon in the heat.

Then the heavens opened as the 10k runners got the safety bref but stopped as the race started. There were a few more Green and Whites running this one.

Then on Sunday the rain came back as Marathon Day 2 started, the first four laps were muddy and wet. The Half started 15 minutes after the Full with Sharon and Kat running in this one. Chris, Paul and I ran the marathon and although the route was a nice one with a bit of everything it got a bit tedious after the 8th lap for Chris and 16 for Paul and I.

Notices

From Phil:

Going to Argentan (France) with the club in October Want to go to Argentan? talk to Phil or Pete J. Ideas wanted for the Saturday Night theme fancy dress. Must be relativity cheap, achievable by all and have music to make a grand entrance.
Incidentally if you want to come its only about £125 a head and covers almost everything except booze

From Matt:

Come on all you YTRRC runners...I know you have all got your own friendly groups within the club, so why not make up a team for the Parrett Trail Relay race. Joanna Henley already has a team of ladies so its up to the rest of us to find teams to beat hers. Phil MacQuaid is looking for an OAP, whoops...a team made up of those with more birthdays than the rest of us.
