The Malaga Marathon
This weekend saw the third year out to the Malaga Marathon and this year was Paul Allen, Peter Jakeman and me with Jane Allen in support. The course was slightly different this year but making in a better start as not so packed in tight with a long wide road to overtake those in the wrong pen.
Saturday saw a gentle 4 miler along the Beach to the Expo to collect our race numbers and see Pete's new car.
Race day came and it was a walk in the dark to the start. We were lucky with the weather as it stayed good for running and not too hot. Jane was spotted around the course to give us a cheer and take pictures of the pavement.
Pete had a great run and finished second it his age group and got an award.
At the end of the race the Brits hit the free larger and drank them dry but not before congratulating Danny Kay on reaching 600 marathons, although not a YTRRC member some of you will know him from the Yeovil Marathon and other local marathons.
Then it was back to the hotel with a well deserved Sherry on the way.

Percy Pud 10k
On Sunday 6th December I ran in the Percy Pud 10k in Sheffield. We
ran out into storm Desmond but fortunately it blew us back home on the second
half of the race. I finished in 768th place in a field of 2087. My time
49:24. The winner was Alan Buckley of Leeds City in 32:26. All finishers
received a Christmas Pudding!
Best wishes
Malcolm
The Full Monty
The Club had a good turn out for the Full Monty up at Ham Hill. With a very muddy 10 miles of hills and a tough course.
Well done to Mike Harvey the first Green and White over the line and Anna Lloyd was the first female. The full results can be seen here. Anna also won her Age Cat so well done Anna.

This race is an excellent introduction to nighttime trail running, there is a 10Km or 5Km option, both are mostly off road.
Christmassy fancy dress, general bright and loud clothing and accessories are optional but encouraged. The link is here.
