The 2015 Santa Dash
Today saw the Santa Dash and 181 runners turned up for a great, well organised run around Ninesprings and a beautiful Hill.
Even the fire bomb at the Ski centre (so Phil said) did not delay the start and after the Town Cryer said a few words it was down to Pete for the Race safety brief and we were off.
The race went down the Yellow Brick Road to the end and then a left turn and up the lovely Hill.
The youngest to run the race, well done Tim |
At the top was the view of Yeovil and the steep hill to run down to the the path and the run back to the finish.
Well done to Matt Driver first male for YTRRC and Melanie Denham was the first lady over the line for the Club. The Club took first Team place with the best looking blokes in the Club.
The full results can be seen here.

Big thanks must go to Linda Membery the Race Director, all the helpers and the Shead family for the marshalling. All those that made the cakes also deserve a pat on the back, the Town Cryer loved them.
I was amazed at the speed of some of the kids, Yeovil has some really fast runners for kids and hopefully the future club members.
I am not sure how much was raised but will let you know when we find out.
Well done Club a great day.
From the Race Director:
A huge thank you for all of the Yeovil Town RRC on helping out on the day. You know who you are! Big thanks to Lesley Nesbitt who had done beyond her duties. We had 208 entries so best ever. Thanks to the St Margaret Hospice and Mike Shead and his family. Just enjoyed my 2 large glasses of wine and now very chilled out.
Sadly an Elf was attacked near the finish and Police would like to question the Man in this picture.
He also attacked another Club member.....
