The Ox Weekend
Ok where to start, the Ox weekend starts on Saturday afternoon with a tent, rain and a 10k in the Light Ox with 6 YTRRC runners and Tom Handley was first Club member over the line and Joanne Crane first lady. Full results can be seen here.
Then there is the Night Ox with 8 YTRRC runners, this saw Nathan Gardiner first over the line with Steph Bearey first lady. However Sean back from the USA took a fall and cut his knee but Fiona stuck a plaster on it and he was back for the Half in the Morning. The full results for the Night Ok can be found here.
The next day saw the Ultra of first with three YTRRC runners taking part, Helen Nesbitt was first YTRRC over the line with Luke and Catherine behind her. Helen also got 3rd lady over the line, I think she was happy, very happy. The full results can be seen here
The next race off was the Marathon with 7 YTRRC runners, (Lesley is not showing in the results yet).
This saw Jon Crane first male and even though Lesley Nesbitt was first lady she is not in the results (yet) so it will have to go to Katie Brooks.
Result of the day has to go to Katie on her first Marathon and a very hard one to start with, Katie was bricking it at the start and the portaloos came in handy but she did great and the results will always show:
166 39 Katie Brooks Yeovil Town RRC 4 f 35-39 10 07:54:24 RES
I'm so happy right now, struggling to find words and fighting the happy tears. These two mary and nick were amazing. Yey. I ran a marathon and earnt my 'number 40'
In the Marathon Paul Allen and I both came first in our Age Groups.
The last race off was the Half with nine YTRRC runners. The first over the line was Jo Henley and first male Sean Gaffney.
First a picture of just how muddy the course was.
You just never know who you will bump into at the Love Station.
And of course in would not be the same if you didn't roll in the mud.
I have to take by hat off to Sean for the Hill at Mile 23 for us so I guess 10 for the half it was bad enough to get up with both my legs, I met him near the top and he was running along to catch up with Fiona. Great running Sean.
The full results can be seen here.
Overall some great running today over a hard hilly. muddy course but what fun we had. Next up Dorset Invader for my 100th.
Ninesprings 10k
Saturday saw the Clubs race at Ninesprings with the new 10k route, there were 115 runners and the first Green and White over the line was Darrell Sheen and first lady was Mel Denham. Well done you two.
Thanks to all that helped set up and to the Shead Family for their support and Mike the Race Director.

Thank you to those members who have volunteered to marshal.
What we need now is more runners - helping to raise money for the upkeep of the lovely Town Tree Nature garden. If you are planning to run it would help me if you let me know in advance, either here on Facebook or by email, then your number will be there when you arrive.

It was mentioned at the AGM that the next Committee meeting would discuss Tues Club night and ways to improve both the way it is done and also what is available. You thoughts are needed to help the Club move forward. Please either come to the meeting or email your thoughts to me or PM me on FB.
