Lynne said:

V v hot Liverpool marathon, route took us all through city parks, support from locals brilliant on closed roads, a lot of water, drinks gels. Suffered last few miles, due to hat, think 4.53 ish , sorry if this posted twice. And beer at end cold and alcoholic!

Dragon Boat Racing

From Louise:

To all those doing the Dragon Boat Racing on Monday, these are the arrangements. Please meet at the pay gate near the car park entrances which is nearest to the lake between 9.45 and 10am and I will hand out the tickets. (Roads will be very busy so allow some extra time). Fez will go on in with a couple of others to put the gazebo up which we can use to put bags in. Best to wear running clothes which dry quickly and bring a towel. No one is likely to fall in and life jackets are provided but you will get splashed so best to bring a change or two of clothes and maybe a towel. Waterproof mascara is also advisable! If anyone is not able to make it or running late please text me on 07792956524 to let me know as I won't be able to go in until I've handed all the tickets out. Race briefing is at 10.15. Hope you're all looking forward to the day!

More on this for an extra Blog tomorrow

Club Awards Night

From Antita:

As many of you may be aware there was recently a vote to give the club members the choice to change venue for the club annual awards night. The result of this was announced at the club AGM on May 10th.
That being:
YTFC (venue A) which had 12 votes
Haselbury Mill (venue B) which had 51 votes.

The date remains the same as in previous years, the last Friday in November - this year it's Friday 25th November.  The new venue can accommodate 200+ diners.
At the next club committee meeting, Weds 1st June, I hope we can discuss some of the thoughts that have been raised:
Discounted places for club members, ?full price for guests.
A minibus/coach arranged from/to around Yeovil.
Staged payment available if needed. Etc.

LAST CALL for BRISTOL HALF MARATHON 2016 places
I plan to be at club on Tuesday night so if you have any money for me then pop it in an envelope with your name and email address on it.

The Queens 40th

Just like the Queen Katie Brooks seemed to have the week for her Birthday but the one party she did not know about was at the Yess Club on Friday. A great night and a big thank you to all that helped set this up and for the food.

Ash Tall Tree Trail Race

Wednesday saw the Clubs TTTR, with loads of the Club running and also a Fun run for the Kids. It was a lovely Summers evening and the kids were off first at 6 pm.

The Results of the Fun Run are on the website and can be found here. Thanks to all who helped out. Kids Fun run photographs can be seen here.

Next race was the main one with 97 runners starting from Ash School. The YTRRC running team were ready for the off.

Well done to Richard Bateson who won the race and was well out in front, although running under the RAF he is a Club member but Paul Card was the first YTRRC runner in a Club vest and Nikki Guiver was the Club's first lady.

The full results can be seen here and the photographs can be seen here

Notices

The minutes to the AGM will be added to the website over the next few weeks, at the AGM is was mention to discus the Tuesday Club Night and to get feedback from Club members. We have received a couple of emails but would like more views on how the Club is to manage Tuesday nights. This also means all other Club activities that you may wish to add your views or ways to improve YOUR Club. The Committee meeting is this week if you wish to attend.

Montacute Park Run on the Saturday before our Yeovil Marathon would like the Club to marshal. We will set up the Club gazebo and promote the Club and hopefully get some new members. More to follow on this but please help if you can.

From Nathan Gardiner:

#‎hilltalk‬ Lot's of excellent hilling?!? done last night. Who is interested in joining future sessions? Not always the evil pyramids and we try to change hills to. I gather more people could come if it was at 6:30? And we've tended to float between Wednesdays and Thursdays which I'm not sure if would make much difference either? Do have a whatsapp group for it where the details get discussed before they go on facebook, let me know if you want to be added.
